“Must stay to decompress after spending time in the big cities!”

Isana was amazing! Very authentic traditional Japanese and away from the hectic nature of the cities. The staff were the best that I have ever experienced and went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. The gave us local recommendations, dropped up at the train station and couldn’t do enough for us during our stay. 10/10 overall!!!

“Amazing for value, a very nice stay at ISANA”

Such an amazing stay here for 2 nights. We were greeted warmly by the staff upon arrival, check in process was prompt and efficient. All staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful during our stay. The room was very spacious and came with a little private outdoor onsen. There was also an option to reserve the larger onsen for 40 minutes each day for free, which we took advantage of. It was an amazing and intimate experience there with my partner. We are both vegetarians, they could not accommodate our dietary requirements for dinner but the chefs specially made vegetarian breakfast meals for us at no extra charge. Breakfast was amazing on both days! Also strategically located, within minutes to popular attractions like Jogasaki Coast and Izu Shaboten zoo.

“Beautiful Intimate resort by the Sea”

We had a truly beautiful and memorable 3-night stay at Isana Resort in Ito. From the moment we arrived until our departure, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The staff were incredibly kind, always smiling, attentive, and thoughtful. It’s the small details that really made the difference—they went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and felt at home. They took the time to explain everything clearly and made the whole experience seamless and relaxing. Our room was stunning—very spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed. We stayed in a modern tatami room and absolutely loved it. The open-air baths were spotless and offered a beautiful view; we enjoyed them every single day. We also loved being able to choose our own Japanese clothing at the start of our stay and wear it during meals—it added such a special and immersive touch. The homemade cookies, tea, and orange juice were a delightful surprise and absolutely delicious. A special mention to the chef—the food was exceptional. Both breakfast and dinner were beyond delicious, truly a highlight of our stay. Overall, this was an incredible experience. A huge thank you to the wonderful staff for making our stay so special. We would absolutely recommend Isana Resort and would love to return one day.

The staff were so friendly and warm. Everything was very well thought out in terms of amenities, and the daily breakfast was so good! The private in-room onsen was very convenient too.

“Fantastic Ryokan Stay”

Staff were amazing! Friendly and helpful at all times. They definitely upheld the standard of a traditional Japanese ryokan. Food was great, both breakfast and dinner, truly enjoyed my meals. The room was spacious with an incredible view. Definitely enjoyed the onsen as well mini-bar that was provided.

“Memorable stay”

Had a set dinner arranged. Paid 9000 yen per person . fusion japanese with A5 japanese wagyu. No regrets. Was worth every dollar. The food was really really amazingly good. The chef turned out to be a very young man. The dishes were each presented very uniquely. As i read reviews that the food was good, they didnt disappoint me. Ryokan was nice and clean . very reasonably priced for the private and well maintained ryokan. Was very happy i chosed this place. Good service and friendly staffs

Own private onsen at balcony

An exceptional experience - many thanks to Hide, Celile and team. The ISANA is in a great location on the Jogasaki coast, overlooking the ocean and close to many local attractions. We felt that we had stepped into a different world where we were made to feel very welcome and special. Breakfast and dinner were outstanding - an original, creative and mouth-watering fusion of Japanese and French cuisine. All guests were provided with kimonos to wear at meals, which created a real sense of occasion. Judging by the Michelin Guide criteria, one feels that it is only a matter of time before Hide and team are awarded Michelin stars, if not already.

“A beautiful getaway less than 2 hours from Tokyo”

- Excellent dinner and breakfast with lots of local seasonal produce (e.g., the region is famous for excellent dairy and citrus). - Private in-room bath was excellent, in addition to a larger bath that you could book for 45 minutes on the ground floor. - Staff were really professional and friendly and looked after us during the whole time. - Close to local attractions like the Jogasaki coast and Mt Omuro if you can drive. - Standard onsen resort amenities provided: in room skincare, shampoo and conditioner (the ones in the big bath are slightly better quality), yukata and slippers. - Free refreshments on premises - guri cha (a type of regional sencha produced in Shizuoka), mikan juice and tea in the room and a drink bar. - Note we rented a car from Atami and drove to the area, an easy drive in perfect weather in early October.

Perfect on everything! Very Friendly and professional staff, close to the ocean, room is spacious and clean, comfortable bed and pillow, room is well equipped and has everything you need, balcony has a sea view with great private onsen, very quiet, we love it!!!

“Very comfortable”

We truly enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Izu Peninsula. The balcony bath with its stunning sea view was unforgettable, and we also had the chance to use the comfortable private onsen, where couples of different genders can reserve a timeslot, a wonderful experience to share together. The staff were exceptionally friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. Without a doubt, this was our best stay in Japan. Highly recommended, especially when booked with both breakfast and dinner included.

We had a great stay at ISANA! The dinner was hands-down the best dinner we've had during our entire Japan trip. The food was presented so beautifully and each dish was delicious. The staff were also so incredibly kind and sweet, and tried to explain everything about our room and meals despite a bit of a language barrier. We booked the room with the private bath on the balcony, although the main bath is also reserve-able and is much larger and more comfortable.
