“Beautiful surroundings and wonderfully restful.”
Very clean and unique. We really liked the older style decorations. It felt cozy and authentic. Beautiful views. Nice pool. Friendly staff who were very efficient. Our hotel room (#1) was a fun round shape, very spacious and had a wonderfully private balcony and view. We thoroughly enjoyed having our breakfast on the balcony each morning.

“Old Mexican charm”
This was my favourite stay on the island. A beautiful boutique hotel bursting with old Mexican charm throughout with colourful walls, tiling and sculptures. Our bedroom was so cute and the view from the balcony was absolutely stunning. This was our last stop on a three week trip travelling around Mexico and it was the perfect place to unwind and reflect on our amazing time in Mexico. Plenty of really good restaurant options walking distance, pool area perfect to relax with a book. Access to dip in the clearest of water right in front of the hotel. Walking distance to Punta Sur for sunrise was a bonus.

“Superb stay at this boutique hotel”
Charming boutique hotel, only a couple of rooms and superb ocean view. Rooms are spacious with a beautiful terrace with hamac and chairs facing the ocean. Simple and great healthy breakfast — and very close to lots of restaurants and punta sur.

“Highly recommend!”
The location, the area around the pool, beach loungers facing the ocean, the access to the beach (rocky) where you can snorkel and there are swings there you can sit on. The room was also nice with a large balcony facing the ocean/sunset. I also had a massage there (they call in a masseuse to come there) and it’s done by the pool area and she was so good. Snorkelling gear can be rented. There are options to eat around there as well and getting a taxi into the north is easy and is 150 MXN

Location is beautiful for sunset. You need a car to feel good there. Taxi to the city takes 10 min and costs 6€. Property is planned beautiful, every room has private terrace with sunset view.

Oswaldo was a wonderful host and the hotel was beautiful. Very homely, with amazing breakfasts included. Each room has a balcony overlooking the pool and water with spectacular views. It's at the quiet end of the island, with great snorkelling below. loads of restaurants nearby.

Wow, this place is magical! The design of every nook and cranny is so special, beautiful vintage tiles, a fountain and perfect pool. Breakfast was served on our room’s patio with a view of ocean and 2 rainbows the morning we stayed! There is direct access to the beach which was totally empty and crystal clear (albeit a bit rocky if you’re looking for sand). It is on the calmer less touristy side of the island which we loved but is only a 150 peso taxi ride and less then 20 mins if you want to get back into the action.

“Amazing few days at La Joya, we felt so relaxed within a couple of hours of arriving.”
We loved the location. The views at sunset were amazing. It was so quiet and peaceful. The small beach was great for snorkelling. Our rooms and terraces were spacious and private, perfect for relaxation.
