“Relatively pleasant, but also disappointing”

The food and cocktails were good and the staff was friendly. The evening events were really fun (dancing lessons, cocktails and happy hours, good atmosphere). Communication about arranging a boat from and to the island were clear. Although too pricy for the quality offered, a nice range of activities were available at the location, such as snorkeling and plankton swimming.

The host and waitresses were super friendly. The food and drinks were delicious and the evening Programme very entertaining. The Hotel complex was super nice and felt like home. We had a really good time!!

Breakfast was great! Fruit juice, unlimited coffee/ chocolate/ hot water, and toast+eggs+fruits. they had a welcome drink as well.

A big room with AC. It was a nice stay for a few nights. The pools were great and got plenty of use. A special mention for the chef here who produced some of the best meals I've had in South America.

Johfran is an amazing host! He welcomed you, runs the yoga and evening activities and brightens up the place! The pool area is good fun and it’s only a 20 min walk to Playa Libre (sandy beach). Such a haven to relax and reset

Secreto has all you need two.pool, a beach, bar and resturany with great food and drinks, lots of room and lounging. Day and night activities were so much fun. The staff are all amazing and will go out of their way to make you feel at home.

“Disappointing Decline – A Wasted Opportunity”

I stayed at Secreto in the Rosario Islands last year and had a great time, despite it being a bit of a budget option. Back then, I even met a European guy working for the hotel chain who was there to improve things, so I returned with five friends, hoping for an even better experience. Unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. The service at the bar was shocking—some of the staff seemed more interested in chatting with their friends than serving customers. Ordering drinks felt like an inconvenience to them, and my friend was even told, "I don’t have any" when asking for a cocktail recommendation. We often had to remind them of our orders after waiting 20 minutes. The food was another disappointment. Portions were tiny, and the menu hadn’t changed at all since the previous year. To make matters worse, there was no free drinking water available, meaning we had to buy overpriced bottles. The state of the place was just sad. Broken chairs and sun loungers scattered around, the pool was dirty, and overall, it felt like the owners or management just didn’t care. This place could be amazing with the right attention, but it’s clearly being neglected. The only saving grace was the excursions. The subwing experience was incredible, and the snorkelling trip was also a highlight. Brian, the tour guide, was fantastic—super friendly and really made the trips enjoyable. Overall, Secreto is a missed opportunity. It has so much potential, but unless major improvements are made, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Location is nice. The excursions were well organised and good fun. They arranged a private transfer from the island to the mainland, which went very smoothly. Food was good but the portion sizes were small.

This was a beautiful place to stay! some minor small improvements on the food would be appreciated but the house, the ambiance, the owner, the beds, the activities were all absolutely amazing. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends and family. Specially if they keep the same affordable prices. That was very important in my decision when booking. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Nice place with private beach. Far away from playa libre. Expensive breakfast, nice meals for lunch/dinner but also expensive. 37k for pasta pesto, 40k for curry rice.

The staff is wonderful. Friendly service. So we felt very welcome. The surroundings are truly beautiful. Lots of birds. Nice pool and we liked the yoga class.
