This is a difficult place to rate, but after spending two days there and going to Isla Grande, we would have not chosen differently. The sandy access to the sea is a big advantage that many nearby hotels lack. The proximity of the corals on the other side is great too. There are a lot of sun-beds on both sides and not a lot of people in hotel which gives a very calm vibe. Check in was available early (around 12). Other reviews gave us a very realistic overview of what is to be expected. This is not a fancy hotel. You go there to disconnect, slow down and enjoy the sea. The host is very kind and helpful. Also, although there is no AC we slept well during the night and it wasn't too hot.

Great welcoming. Perfect place to relax and forget the world. Good breakfast. Two beaches with long chairs on shade, or not. There are not real sand beaches in Rosario Island but few steps to get to the clear sea. All staff was very attentive and helpful offering meals or confirming returning boat. Fan is enough in the bedroom and there was mosquito nets on windows. Snorkelling , diving, water boards renting besides.

The place is located right by the sea, on a beautiful tropical island surrounded by lush vegetation. The hostel itself has a very charming and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for disconnecting and enjoying nature. Breakfast is included and always fresh and delicious, while lunch and dinner can be ordered at the hotel’s restaurant, both are incredibly tasty with plenty of options. The internet (Starlink) works very well, which was great as my wife and I both work online. They also have solar panels and a generator, so you won’t encounter any issues with power cuts. Boat tours are available to explore Isla Grande and other nearby islands, which is a wonderful experience. We highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to spend a few days in a small tropical paradise. We spent a wonderful week here and would be happy to return in the future.

“Basic but charming bolthole.”

Time here is like stepping back into the 1940/50s. The property itself was once a family villa that has a colonial air about it. Sitting on the veranda at night supping a glass of something or other it felt as though I'd inherited a sugar plantation. Electricity is generated by solar, water is a precious commodity. There is no air conditioning. Instead, Isla Tijereto boasts simple fans and lukewarm gravity-fed showers. It sets Isla Tijereto apart. Personally, I loved it. Food wise; breakfast, lunch and dinner are perfectly fine. Wine, when available is good. Eduardo, the owner, is warm, attentive and speaks fluent English. When Eduardo is around the staff are really on their game (but not so much when he leaves). If you want high-end luxury go somewhere else but if you’re looking for an atmospheric short stay bolthole, it is perfect.

The staff was simply amazing; extremely welcoming, warm, friendly and fun! The also have a dive center at the premises, which made it very comfortable to organize some dives during our stay there; the diving team was equally helpful and friendly. The accommodation (as described) is very rustic and spartan. But if you are fine with that, then I would recommend this place and the island in general for a typical Colombian Caribbean experience :)

This is not a luxury resort. It is a local experience on a property with a fantastic location, beach and waterfront, at back and front. Remember you are on an island and enjoy being immersed into local way of life and culture. Order meals early and tell them what time you want to eat, they make to order so it takes an hour.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Tijereto during my vacation in Colombia, and I must say, it was an experience beyond compare! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and impeccable hospitality that set the tone for an unforgettable stay. Let's start with the comfort—the hotel exceeded all expectations! The furnishings were tastefully chosen, but simple, creating a soothing ambiance that instantly relaxed me. The bed was a great. Now, let's talk about the beach. The hotel's location offered breathtaking views of pristine, powdery white sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters that stretched as far as the eye could see. It was like stepping into a postcard! . The beach loungers and umbrellas provided by the hotel ensured I could relax in style while savoring the gentle sea breeze.

Our stay at Isla Tijereto was perfect! The location was so beautiful. The staff were so friendly and very attentive, the food was so tasty. We hired the kayak they had and kayaked around the island which was so nice with the waters being so clear. It rained one day we were there but this did not effect our experience. They have pet cats there and a pet dog and they were all so cute!!

“Could be a little paradise... but it is not”

The hotel is located on a tiny island with only a few houses and other resorts. The premises are perfect to relax, do nothing, read a good book, lay in the hammocks, watch the sunset. I liked the idea of the outdoor shower and bathroom (no warm water though).

we had booked two airconditioned rooms with shower and toilet. none of the rooms actually have airconditioning and even the the fans do work, due to a lack of electricity. In this climate the lack of aircon implies hot and sticky nights the lack of electicity even implies restictions for charging mobile phones… 🤨 We did not appeciate staff randomly entering our rooms to check if we were not using electricity. we would recommend any of the other accomodations on the island!

- The privacy is great - Good place for total relaxation as there’s only really one proper beach you can lie on (it’s gorgeous and super tranquil!) - The room we stayed in was gorgeous. Basic (as expected on an island like this!) but done very nicely and so, so clean! - The wonderful lady who works there (can’t remember her name - so sorry!) made my partner a birthday cake completely from scratch with very little notice after learning it was his birthday - this was SUCH a nice touch and made the day so special - The lady was so kind and couldn’t do enough to help us/get us what we needed
