We spent three nights at Isla Bela Hotel. We enjoyed it a lot. The staff was very kind, serviceminded and helpful. Our bungalow was really cool. Amazing location. Three nights is definitively enough though.

Amazing location and scenery. Also pretty cool that the hotel is managed by island natives. The activities proposed by the hotel were also really good.

“Amazing stay”
Beautiful property with very friendly staff. I was solo traveling and for me it was a perfect place to chill and relax. The food was good, beach is beautiful and the manager William did me a huge and kind favor. I stayed for three nights but could’ve stayed longer.

“Nice island”
Unfortunately, the experience was not up to the price charged. The operation felt extremely disorganised, with a rather strange and rigid setup overall. On arrival, you are given a briefing that feels more like a long list of rules. While most of it is common sense, it is delivered in an uncomfortable and oddly formal way. To make matters worse, our booking was not even on the system when we arrived. Throughout the stay, every request, even something as simple as asking for a bottle of water, required staff to communicate over the radio for approval. It gives the impression that no one is empowered to make decisions, and that clearance is needed for everything. We have travelled extensively throughout Colombia and visited many islands. At this price point, you can find far better options with a much higher level of comfort and organisation. There was no complimentary water in the room, no kettle for making a hot drink, and overall the experience simply did not represent good value for money. The location is good, but that applies to almost everywhere on these islands, so it doesn’t really set this place apart. Overall, it was not the kind of relaxation, enjoyment, or professionalism I would expect, and certainly not what I look for in a stay of this level.

Hotel Islabela is the absolute best hotel you can stay on the Rosario Islands. Their private beach is so quiet, serene and beautiful and their public beach is an absolute blast. Total good times, music, turquoise ocean water, soft sand, amazing drinks, cold beers, great food and just a wonderful small island atmosphere and chill vibe. We did a snorkeling tour with Hotel Islabela which was totally amazing, beautiful and very reasonable. The tour guides are top notch. The grounds of the hotel are meticulously maintained and beautiful. The best part of the stay were the people. Hotel Islabela team are the best. William the hotel manager truly makes your welcome and stay here unforgettable with his warm smile and friendly service, He and Francesco, Roya and all the other staff here go out of their way to make your vacation truly a wonderful life experience. We will be back!

“Lovely stay overall with beautiful beaches and good food.”
Beautiful island and the cabin we had was with sea views which was amazing to wake up to. We had a private front area and entrance to the water. The hotel is eco conscious and rustic, in line with the local style. In fact, it’s owned by the locals which seems like a good cause to boost local growth and economy. The food was pretty good and there was good variety to not get bored of the same. It’s very common for the hotels on Rosario Islands to do day trips which we were worried about in terms of numbers of people and noise but there is a separate quiet beach for people who stay overnight which was very appreciated. Also there’s only a limited number of people staying at the hotel so it’s very quiet, there’s plenty of space on the beaches and it’s very peaceful. Feels luxurious to have all this space to yourself and be on a quiet beach.

“Overall, IslaBela is a good place to relax and unwind, but improvements in comfort, food, and hospitality would make the”
Isla Marina is a tropical place with a beautiful beach and a very peaceful atmosphere. Hotel Islabela is a good spot to rest and disconnect, surrounded by lovely nature. The hotel is a simple place—don’t expect luxury, but rather a calm, laid-back experience.

“I totally recommend, but read this before booking”
We spent here 4 days, which was longer than anyone we met there. The beach and the water is beautiful and pristine clean. I loved the mixed experience of being in a "resort" and also being on an island with locals, seeing how they live and interacting with them. There are tourist groups that come for the daily trips, but they mostly stay on other beach. You can hear a bit of the music from there on Islabela beach, but it's really not intrusive (imo). They leave every day before 3PM. Every day there is power outage from 3PM-5PM that provides amazing tranquility. I relaxed there like I haven't for a long time. You can use the kayak for free, and then paid activities like snorkeling to see the corals, or take a stroll to the neighboring island (Isla Grande is the big island, Islabela is located on Isla Marina aka Isleta). Also locals come and go on kayaks, offering amazing drinks, or even paddle boards so that was great. We had the bungalow Sonia which is in my opinion the best one (the bungalows are scattered across bigger area). The locals and staff are friendly and very nice:) The whole island is an ancient coral reef, so it's all brittle and hard to walk on. It would be the best to have water shoes, but it is manageable without them too if you are deft/nimble.

“Beautiful island stay, quiet and remote”
We had an excellent time on the island - absolutely beautiful beach and water, free to use kayak, and the loveliest staff. We really felt immersed in the small community and the sunset walk to the other side of the island is absolutely not to miss!

It was impossible for us to reach the hotel by mail or phone. We wanted help to get to the island from Cartagena, but had to find out ourselves. To get off the island was easy to plan, and in a much cheaper way…!

“Lovely stay!”
We had a lovely stay in Islabela. The journey itself took about 1.5 hours from Cartagena so it is a bit further away than some of the other islands, but we thought it was worth it. The hotel is beautiful, very quiet and relaxing. The private beach and beds are great for chilling during the day away from the day trips. Our room (Andry) was lovely and rustic, as you would expect from a beach property. The staff were lovely and the manager William was very welcoming. We did snorkelling which was very fun and walked around the island a bit. Great stay overall.

“Expensive and overhyped”
The staff was absolutely amazing. However before we booked our three night stay we checked the hotel website to double check the menu since we would be on the island for 4 days. The menu shown on the website shows way more options than the actual menu on the island. It would be nice if that would be updated. Since the options were limited and the prices for Colombian standards very high it adds up quite fast. We enjoyed our stay but one night would have been plenty. The beach is nice but there is a lot of stones and broken coral. If you want beaches with powdery sand i recommend you go somewhere else. You have the islands to yourself after 2:30 pm. And there is not much else to do than read a book.

“Great sea views but don’t expect much from the huts”
The huts are looking at the sea and have beautiful views, and in the morning and late afternoon are very tranquil. The food is good on-site and not massively over priced but you can’t eat anywhere else.
