“Friendly, great value, excellent food”

Super friendly staff running the hostel, felt very comfortable. It’s super clean and the food is delicious. We stayed at 2 eco hostels on the island and the accommodation is pretty much the same at both (rustic), but the service here was much better, it had free substantial breakfast, and was cheaper.

The complex was nice, we were the only guest there so it was very quiet if you do not mind roosters and dogs. Prawn spagetti were excellent and very generous portion. The kitchen staff was nice and they were all good cooks. We did not mind the power outage during the day (you do not need that), shower with very weak pressure and toilet that was necessary to flush with a bucket, that is part of the experience. Personal hammock in front of the cabin was nice (maybe wash them more often, they smell of a bat poo). Sheets and linen were clean, bin and fan was provided, you do not really need more. Wifi was okay, not strong.

Great location, 3 min walk to a very quiet yet beautiful beach. Kind and helpful staff. Edgar and his family were really nice giving all the useful information and made us feel at easy. Highly recommended

“Very basic hotel without further comfort”

Nice and friendly family that is owning the hotel. They organized a special transport back to Cartagena for us because we needed to leave earlier than the normal tourist transport. The food in the hostel was okay, on the second evening we tried another hostel nearby for dinner which was of similar quality.

The staff was welcoming and helpful when we arrived. They offered to us to use the common bathroom to take a shower since we arrived before the check-in time. The food we ordered at the restaurant for dinner was very good, as well as the breakfast, which was included in the price. The outside area around the small houses is very peaceful and green, perfect to relax and enjoy some time away from the heat and sun. The snorkeling activity we have additionally joined was amazing. The fan in the room is very silent.

It was a nice quiet place as a start for activities on the island. We loved the snorkeling, visit of the laguna and the plankton at night

“Good value for the money, great food and location”

We spent one night in a tent. The tent was fully functional, clean and the mattress was comfortable. We did not have any insects or ants inside. Just be prepared for a really hot night. The food excellent and people were very nice, especially Edgar who attended us very professionally. The location was optimal and you can also rent a kayak and order tours.

Good location, peaceful, not crowded, easy access to nice spot for bathing & short walk to beaches & restaurants. Able to rent kayaks & paddle boards from the hotel. Food is excellent. Hammocks outside each cabin are comfy.

“Cool experience”

We stayed in the tent for a 2 nights and it was amazing experience. The island is very quiet, also the whole property is nice and calm. Very nice owners, cheap vagan lunch. Close to the beach. Staying in tent was comfortable with a mattress. Don't expect strong wifi.

Basic in the best way! The island offers stripped back beauty and Bosque Encantado embraces and encapsulates that well. The staff are wonderful and really look after you without being overbearing in any way. The food is a solid 10/10 too - so tasty and generously portioned. This is not a place for people who want 5* luxury or fancy particularities, but if you appreciate beautiful nature, chilled island vibes and delicious food then this is for you! We stayed for nearly a week, it was so gorgeous.
