A Magical Island Escape at Little Mermaid Ishigakijima! 🧜‍♀️✨ If you are looking for a private paradise on Ishigaki Island, Little Mermaid is a total hidden gem! We had an incredible stay and can’t recommend it enough. Exceptional Hospitality 🤝 What truly sets this place apart is the outstanding and helpful staff. They are incredibly responsive and ready to assist with any question or request you might have. Whether it's organizing an airport transfer (just make sure to arrange it in advance) or giving local tips, their warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The Location & Beach Vibes 🏖️ The location is unbeatable if you love nature. A breathtakingly beautiful beach is just a 7-minute walk away (or a super quick 2-minute drive). The water there is crystal clear and perfect for a relaxing day. One of our favorite things to do was driving to a large supermarket just 10 minutes away to stock up on fresh local snacks and drinks, and then having a sunset picnic right on the beach. It was the highlight of our trip! The Rooms & Vibe ☁️ The hotel feels very fresh and stylish. Our rooms were beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and felt like a cozy sanctuary after a long day in the sun. Because it’s away from the busy city center, the nights are incredibly quiet, and the starry sky above the hotel is simply breathtaking! Top-Tier Service 🚗 Traveling was so easy because we could rent a car directly at the hotel. This is a must for exploring the island and getting to the shops and viewpoints quickly. The Stars of the Show: Hotel Pets! 🦜 What makes this place truly special is its unique charm and the adorable residents. Returning to the hotel after a beach day became a whole program of its own thanks to the pets! Paina (the parrot) was absolutely the most talented representative of the hotel—seeing her was such a delight and always put a smile on our faces. It adds such a warm, family-like atmosphere to the stay. Elena

Beautiful location, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were large and comfortable. It felt like glamping due to proximity to nature and all the animals around, but with the comforts of a hotel. Coin laundry with free detergent. Ample parking. My favourite part was being able to see the stars from the rooftop terrace. Great walking up to ocean view from my balcony. Would definitely stay again.

Very clean with all the comfort, the staff is super nice and happy to help with everything. The position is strategic if you rent a car, not too far from the city to go out for dinner and near the main beaches. There’s also a Family Mart in 5 min by car.

“Somehow quirky place - overall fair value for money”

Spacious and clean rooms. A large fridge and a mirowave in the room. Balcony with a beautiful view (see below though). While the location is a bit remote, it is a good base to explore the island from if one has a rental car (absolutely required when visiting the island). Also, since it is outside of the main town, the view of the stars is breathtaking.

Spacious and clean room, also quiet location. It’s on top of the hill and had a great view of the ocean. Walking distance to Fusaki beach for swim.

Staff were helpful, location slightly located out of city but perfect that it’s quiet. Non issue since I already knew beforehand.

“Nice, in a way”

Having your own transportation is recommended. There is a busstop nearby but there are only a few busses each day, so you need a cab at night to get back to the hotel from out of town (~1800Y). The hotel doesn't offer breakfast and has limited offer for dinner (nice btw). Friendly thoughtful staff, always around, working hard. Very clean and spacious rooms. There's a nice roof terrace to go stargazing when it's a clear night.

The hotel is very nice and comfy with a great location (10 min walking distance from a beautiful beach with all the facilities you need - changing room, shower, etc). The staff is really nice and helpful and it was a pleasure having conversation with them. Once again, I would like to thank them for their kindness and availability. We had a so pleasant and great stay You should also try the BBQ dinner :) !

Reika and staff were amazing. Exceptionally kind and helpful. They would even go out of their ways to help us reserve certain restaurants / activities in short notice (I found out that they drove to the city to try to reserve one particularly famous restaurant when it didn't take phone calls). English is not an issue which was also great. Room / facility was very clean and home-like. Everything was well organized. Location is right next to the Fusaki Beach which boasts a great sunset scenery, and quite close to Ishigaki port / city where you can enjoy many restaurants and local activities. Small things like renting Okinawa-style clothes for kids and snorkeling gear for free was also a plus. And the kids loved playing with the small animals (owl, bunnies, ducks, parrots, etc.). Definitely our hotel of choice next time we visit Ishigaki.
