It is good value for the money, especially in Ishigaki. You can rent a snorkel + fins for 500 yen per day. Good privacy situation with the curtains on the beds.

The location is great, common areas and the room were clean. The owner is a very friendly and helpful person.

The kitchen Is super clean and well equipped. Our room was very functional and clean. Whorting the price. You have to bear in mind that It Is an hostel and not a four stars hotel. It Is clean, cheap and in a good position, not too far away from the city center and quite close to the bus stop (4 Min by walking)

“Spacious and comfortable hostel with a lovely host”

Big hostel on the top of building with good views and lots of hangout space (the nicest of any hostels on our 1.5 month travel through japan!). The kitchen and bathrooms were also good, though we ate out every night. The host was very nice and helpful even with the language barrier. Our private double was large.

great location- very spacious spaces (bedroom, kitchen, common areas, terrace), got a very local and homely feel of the place, cleanliness was spot on, quiet area, loads of restaurants near by and helpful staff. plus 2h free bike rental (they are old but they still get you places)

Location was ok, 10/15min walk to centre of town and 20 to the dock. Kitchen was pretty good too

Shin san is really nice! The place is close to everything. Super and fish market. The energy in the hostel it’s super nice!!

“Fun and easy”

The location was excellent - maybe 10-15 minutes from the centre of Yaeyama and the main ferry terminal so access to other islands was super easy. The hostel is near two main roads so transport to the airport and other places on the main island was very accessible. There was also a large Family Mart on the route to town which was extremely convenient. The host was super friendly and very happy to give us recommendations for places. He was always around which made asking for help with things simple. The facilities were routinely cleaned and excellently provisioned (e.g. my shoes had to dry one night and there were loads of flip flops I could borrow). Overall, a very relaxed and inviting hostel experience, with a great host.
