Overview
Just steps away from Star Sand Beach, Pension Hoshinosuna features accommodations with ocean views. Guests can enjoy marine activities such as diving and snorkeling or take a yoga class at the property. All rooms are air-conditioned and feature a flat-screen TV, a fridge and an electric kettle with green tea bags. Guests can choose between rooms with tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding or rooms with hardwood floors and Western-style beds. Comes with an en suite bathroom. Guests can purchase local gifts at the souvenir shop and use the coin-operated launderette. Drink vending machines are on-site. Local Okinawa dishes, snacks, set menus and fresh juices can be enjoyed at the property restaurant. Hoshinosuna Pension is a 10-minute drive from Urauchi River and a 30-minute drive from Marydo Falls. Ishigaki Island is a 40-minute ferry ride from the Port Uehara.

“A little slice of paradise. I will absolutely stay here again, in fact I can't wait to go back!”
A little slice of paradise. On first entering my room I saw that the huge windows opened onto a quiet little lawn from which the view of the lovely coral bay below (Hoshizuna Beach) was perfect. I immediately ditched my plans to rent a bike and tour the west of Iriomote and settled down to spend a few days doing nothing more than reading on the little veranda by the lawn and popping down to the beach (less than 100 metres away) for a bit of paddling about and snorkelling. I had found my corner of paradise and I wanted to savour it. The staff were friendly, cold beers were in great supply, the breakfasts were hearty (and served in the room overlooking the quiet beach) and the restaurant for dinner - while closing early - was pretty good, too. I will absolutely stay here again, in fact I can't wait to go back! (Ask for a ground floor room. That way you get the lawn and the beach!)

I really loved the garden and the table outside our room where we had breakfast because it had a stunning view of the palm trees and the sea. Very close to the famous Hosizuna beach. Staff was very kind and welcoming.

Absolutely fabulous location on a lovely beach and near some very nice restaurants (by car) and family run, who were happy to help when asked.

The room was very clean and had an amazing sea view! So lovely! Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was extraordinary and the restaurant has a very beautiful view over the beach and sea

“Basically your very own Private Villa”
Charming little guesthouse right next to the Hoshizuna Beach. I had a large tatami room to myself with a private bathroom. Clean and comfortable. It's also within walking (your mileage might vary) distance to some great dinner places. They have a cafe for lunch and drinks too!

“Friendly host , beautiful surroundings, remote”
We arrived via ferry to Uehara port and got a bus to the accomodation. Please note the bus is not very frequent. The host was very friendly and showed us to the room. Due to the remoteness of the accommodation, we had dinner and breakfast here the next day for our 1 night stay. The meals were superb! For dinner , we had a delicious local meal of fresh sashimi with Yaeyama soba , Okinawa Pork and salad. We booked both a night tour and day tour with Adventure PiPi who picked us up from the accommodation and dropped us back and also dropped us at the port the next day for the ferry back to Ishigaki Island. The beach next to the accommodation was beautiful and quiet. The room was basic with tatami mats and futons which is what we expected. It was good value. A lovely quiet location.

The place is very nice, awesome views from the restaurant and the room. I got a western-style room upstairs which had an amazing light and could hang out on the balcony. Very neat and tidy, clean. The staff was veeery nice and could accomodate my vegetarian diet, and let me tell you ! The food was delicious. They were very keen to help me figure out a program for my stay as well. It's a very very nice place and the owner is so lovely. Thank you again for that wonderful stay

Amazing stay ! The view on the beach is wonderfull, and it's just 50 meters away. The owner was very kind and helped us a lot during our stay. You can rent snorkling equipment and the food is really good ! 100% recommend !

“Seaside pension, cozy futon, nice view.”
The pension is right by the beach and has a small grocery 20min away on foot. The room was comfortable and clean, but since it was on the ground floor, we did see ants in the room. The restaurant sells snacks and they have a vending machine outside. We took a walk outside on the beach and it was beautiful. We didn’t get to eat at the restaurant but the view from their outside deck was beautiful!
