The location is very good. The owner is friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming. It’s truly peaceful. The people on Iriomote island are relaxed and friendly.

The food was lovely, the owners were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. Kimiko drove us to lunch, then to the harbour so we could go on a boat trip. Yuji drove us to the ferry terminal.

“Wonderful place immersed in nature”

The owner and staff were the kindest people! The hotel has all one needs, with a wonderful breakfast included. It was super clean, we had an amazing view of the sea from the room and could simply step out onto the beach as it’s right there in front of the water. At night the the rooftop terrace is perfect for star gazing. The location is great, inside a very small town immersed in nature. Someone told us this was “deep Iriomote” - and we now love deep Iriomote! We only stayed 1 night but we wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect place to stay. The owner, his wife and the rest of the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful. The food is great. We had a wonderful time.

The English speaking owner was very friendly and helpful and being a native of Iriomote was very knowledgeable. Hoshitate is a tranquil location with a photogenic beach. There are some rock outcrops close to shore that are wonderful to snorkel and full of reef fish including a family of clown fish … yes I found Nemo! The Hoshitate steak was memorable. if you are there at the right time the owner will take you to see the fire flys.

Friendly and helpful owner, who speaks english well. Beach is nice. Close to Urauchi if you want to make a day trip. Restaurant in house, most of the restaurants nearvy were closed

All of it. Especially the owner and his family who took us to a very special place to see firefly on the first evening. The roof terrace is brilliant to see the stars at night

“Gorgeous view, gracious hosts, solid 2 1/2 star hotel”

Look past your first view of the back of the hotel, which badly needs a coat of paint, and the cluttered lobby. The hotel has a fabulous view of the ocean, and easy beach access. Staff are helpful and accommodating - you can ask them to make reservations at the wonderful Ishitaki restaurant, which even offers free transportation! Hotel breakfast and dinner are very good - massive Japanese breakfast.

“Paradise location”

The location was paradise. The hotel was situated right on a beautiful and very quiet beach (safe for children). Bring your snorkeling gear as the water is crystal clear and you can see many colorful fishes (we saw Nemo and his family). The staff was the personnification of kindness and made our stay unforgetable. We went post-covid (summer 2022) and there was a shortage of staff but the owner made up for it with free drinks :)
