This is a very friendly backpackers with a extraordinary helpful owner, very nice staff, a good kitchen to cook your dinner and nice views from the balcony. Also a good bar and free breakfast. Very recommended.

“Seriously GREAT hostel (but seriously LOUD bar)”

The hostel itself is seriously cool. Multiple and spacious common areas, both internal and external (great views!), nicely decorated, ideal for relaxing and meeting fellow travelers. Staff members (beyond the young owners) do not speak English but are very efficient and excel at making themselves understood regardless - BIG UP in particular to Josephina (aka Mama-Baraka) who warmly welcomed me upon arrival showing me around the hostel and checking me in, and kindly assisted with onward transport arrangement at checkout.

“A comfortable and friendly hostel”

We booked Hidden Valley Backpackers for a break in a busy holiday schedule and it proved perfect. The neighbourhood was quiet, not too far a walk from Iringa centre and the staff were friendly and helpful. The on-site bar and pool room was a great place to hang out in the evening and it served a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. It was also a great base from which to explore local sights such as the rock paintings at Igeleke and the stone pillars at Isimila. Highly recommended and great value for money.

“Fantastic. A must for people traveling to Iringa”

Everything was absolutely excellent from the welcoming staff to the location over looking Iringa with a beautiful space to sit on overhanging nets and drink a few beers. Bathroom and bedrooms were spacious and comfy. Very nice bar located on premises with a pool table. The owner is wonderful. Could not recommend this place enough and for such a reasonable price

Beautifully situated. Clean and a hot shower. We have been traveling for days and was the best sleep we have had and first hot shower in days. Woke up to fantastic coffee and a delicious home cooked breakfast of pancakes eggs and bananas. Eric the host is fantastic human who is very eco minded and conservational. Great place. Asante Asana

The atmosphere in Hidden Valley is amazing and laid-back. The view from the terras is really beautiful. The owner is very helpful.

I got stucked at this place because i found the freedom to do whatever i needed or felt like doing. The view over the city is amazing and the rooms are comfortable. It's very easy to reach the city or to do some hiking. Eric is a very good host.

The hostel has a beautiful location with amazing view. We very much enjoyed the Terrasse, which is spacious and comfortable. Eric the host was fantastic and helped organize a safari trip and bus for us - again thank you so much for your time. Restaurants are in walking distance and we felt very welcome. Breakfast is self serve but well equipped with pans, toaster and coffee machines. Simple breakfast with eggs, toast and yoghurt. We had the single room which had comfortable beds and room to move

The relax area was amazing, the view was great, there are boardgames and a guitar. Also you can order even Italian or Indian food.
