“Hill top paradise”

The house is wonderful. Great design and tastefully decorated, with interesting furniture and artwork. There are enough terraces for everyone to spread out and have their own space if desired. Fantastic sea and mountain views. It is really well fitted out with plenty of kitchen equipment, outdoor furniture, pegs for drying clothes, extra fridge and iron. Everything as listed and water pressure is very good. Efthymios is a super host. We had an absolutely fantastic stay, so relaxing. If we ever go back to Kea we would definitely hope to stay at Hill Top House.

The house is amazing, beautifully furnished with an emphasis on being sociable round the outdoor table, but also spaces to sit and read and be quiet. The house is the sort of place you would love to own. It didn’t feel like a soulless villa, but a comfortable home which is a delight to wake up In and also to come home to. It was hard to leave. The view is breathtaking and I spent hours just sitting and staring out to sea on one side and the chora on the other. The host was by far the best host I’ve ever dealt with, super communicative, responded quickly and very friendly. I can’t rate this place highly enough and I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook for next year. Don’t be put off by the lack of air conditioning. There are fly nets on every window and the breeze kept the house cool along with the ceiling and standard fans. It was nice change to not wake up cold from an AC unit or to have that bunged up feeling.

Efthimios’ house is as beautiful as the pictures show. It’s a wonderful, recently renovated Cycladic building that can comfortably accommodate six people, has all the amenities needed and offers a cozy atmosphere with astonishing view over the Aegean Sea. The location is very quiet and relaxing, remote enough to get some peaceful time but not far away from the port, nightlife at Vourkari and some of the nice beaches in the area. The main village Ioulida is a 15 minutes car ride away. There’s no air conditioning, but even if we were there on very hot days, the rooms in the bottom floor were cool and the location on top of a hill, plenty of windows and fans in every room ensured that we never felt it was too hot to enjoy it, even with small kids. The guest was very kind, flexible and providing clear instructions for all we needed. I’d definitely try to stay again at Efthimios’ house if I went back to Kea/Tzia again.
