The hosts Anne Marie & John were very welcoming & the room was lovely & private with its own entrance. Especially appreciated the chocolates in our room & lots of extra blankets in the cupboard. Beautiful setting on 25 acres with landscaped gardens & deer but only 8 minutes from town. Peaceful & very quiet & the stars at night were fantastic .Breakfast was delicious & portions generous. Thank you for a lovely stay

This property is so lovely as are the owners. Room is spacious with nice en-suite. Good to see deer on the property and learn about the history of the deer farm. Lovely breakfast cooked fresh by the owner in front of us. She also gave us a great recommendation for an evening meal in town. (N.B. You do need a car as this is a bit out of town)

Beautiful setting in the country, just a short drive from the city centre. Comfortable accommodation. Very friendly host. John prepared and cooked a delicious breakfast for us.

Great hosts and a lovely room. Although it’s attached to the main house, it provides plenty of privacy. The home-cooked breakfast was excellent, and the hosts were kind enough to give us a tour of their garden.

The location just out of town was perfect for us, quiet and peaceful. The garden at the property was beautiful, and the host so thoughtful and helpful. We were served an awesome home made breakfast each morning.

“A gem of a place to stay!”

We had a lovely stay in Anne Marie and John’s bnb. Nothing was too much trouble and we were so well looked after. It is in a quiet, rural and peaceful environment. The room was very comfortable and we had a great breakfast that set us up for the day. We would definitely recommend McIvor Lodge!

“Lovely farm stay with friendly hosts.”

McIvor lodge was perfect for us, beautiful, clean room looking out onto the front garden, comfy bed and ensuite. The owners were very kind, allowing us to use the washing machine to do our washing. They cooked us a lovely breakfast and sat with us to have a chat.

“Quiet, relaxing stay”

Anne-Marie was absolutely lovely and very welcoming. The bed was so comfortable and the room had all amenities you'd need (except a fridge but we didn't particularly need one). We had breakfast in her kitchen in the morning and enjoyed chatting for about an hour. She provided muesli, yoghurt, fruit, toast, and eggs. She even cooked some wild venison for my husband who mentioned he would love to try it while in the area!

A very nice room and bathroom with hot drink making facilities and and a nice comfy bed. The hosts were warm and welcoming and went above and beyond what was advertised! Breakfast was also delicious!
