“Feel the true Lapland nature”

Cozy place in nature, beautiful cabin. Great restaurant in the resort. Shared shower and toilet few steps from my cabin - I saw northern lights on my way to pee.

The location. It is located in an unibileavably good location. During winter months the places looks like fairy tale location.

I had a very special experience staying here. The place is incredibly scenic — surrounded by river views, gentle hills and untouched northern nature. It is a perfect location to observe the Northern Lights, enjoy the silence, and simply connect with nature. I was even lucky enough to see bullfinches nearby, which made the experience even more memorable. The atmosphere is peaceful and authentic, especially in winter.

“Great week in Lapland”

We spent a fantastic week at Muotkan Ruoktu. It’s really in the middle of nowhere and gives a great feeling of wilderness. We cooked most evenings in the small kitchen and dined three times in their restaurant. During the day we participated in activities organized by the owners and we really enjoyed them.

Beautiful location, great staff and rooms were clean, food was great

The property was lovely with very welcoming staff. We took part in the ice fishing activity and although we were unlucky and did not catch anything the experience was lovely. Our guide did amazing translating instructions in different languages to each of us in the group. The sunrise and sunsets over the frozen landscapes were wonderful. The bathroom facilities were very clean and easily accessible both during the day and night. The restaurant served traditional meals and local alcoholic beverages. We thoroughly enjoyed our reindeer burgers, a nice cooked meal was needed after our long travels. The property also allowed us an incredible view of the northern lights, a bucket list experience has definitely been ticked off. Thank you very much Kevin, Kinga, the team and there adorable dogs.

It was clean and warm. All facilities are quite close to each other.

The location is absolutely lovely, the cabin was warm and cozy and the bathroom was newly renovated with floor heating. They also helped me to get my car running in the freezing -35°C Finnish winter. The sheer amount of northern lights we saw was astounding. We were very lucky to have 3 cloudless nights.

“Hidden gem in North Finland”

The property’s location is great, especially if you want to get away from the city lights and spot some incredible auroras! We were sold by the rural landscape, the staff, quietness, and the wide range of activities. We tried a local dish and the snow scooters, and everything was exceptional.

The location was amazing, surrounded by beautiful nature and far from city noise. I really enjoyed the fresh air, the snow, and the opportunity to see the Northern Lights. The owners were very welcoming and helpful, which made the stay even more enjoyable. It’s a perfect place to disconnect and relax.

“Beautiful snow covered wilderness”

What a beautiful location in the snowy wilderness. Getting here and back on the bus from Inari was easy though only one bus per day. The family room with a bathroom included was open plan and cozy with 2 single beds in one room and a set of bunk beds in the living area. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was delicious and decent size portions. I wish we could have stayed longer as one night is not enough.

“Unique setting and activities”

Our stay at Muotkan definitely exceeded our expectations. Kinga was super welcoming from the first moment, she introduced us to Lappish culture, took us on a beautiful snowshoeing walk through the wilderness and cooked us a delicious tradicional reindeer dish. As a cherry on the top, we also got to meet her beautiful dogs. Highly recommended stay!
