Set in an elegant castle by the River Vuoksi, Scandic Imatran Valtionhotelli is centrally located in Imatra. Not my first time there. Nice hotel to stay for 1-2 nights. Visited with kids, they were happy about the pool in the property. Food at the restorant for dinner was excellent. The breakfast was also very good. Comfortable room in the garden building was prepared for our family.

“Impressive Exterior”
The exterior of the main building is very impressive. The hotel is in a nice location and is convenient for an overnight stop. We stayed in the new building which was ok. Plenty of parking.

Amazing hotel. Like a castle. Great history lovely corridors and doors. A lot of choices at breakfast. So well organised and very tasty.. All the staff were very helpful.

Impressive historic building near Imatran Koski and Kruununpuisto park. Fine hotel interiors. Rich varied breakfast and restaurant (doesn't work on Sunday, but breakfast is served). Comfortable room. Sauna, pool and small gym are available.

We got a room with a black mold in the shower. The whole wall under the shower head was covered by the mold inbetween tiles. For 200+ € per night it is unacceptable and unbelievable. The reception suggested using a sauna facilities shower, which was located in another building, and nothing else - no room change or a partial refund. Only after a long discussion they agreed on changing the room for us. The whole hotel, both the castle building and the new building, does not have any air conditioning, only fans inside room. In the new building you can't even open the windows. We had two weeks of really hot weather here, and the hotel rooms were like a sauna.

The hotel is an elegant art noveau castle with unique rooms. For relatively cheap price you can experience noble lifestyle for a night. Rich breakfast buffet. Great surroundings for exploring nature.

The hotel is set next to a lovely riverside walk along the Imatra rapids. The staff where very helpful as the restaurant was closed on the day we stayed and directed us to the centre where we found somewhere to eat. The room was nice and big, fitting the almost medieval castle look of the hotel Breakfast was fantastic, with a selection of hot and cold options as well as yogurt, and overnight oats.
