In quiet surroundings 10 minutes' drive from central Ilomantsi, this B&B is located in a 100-year old, renovated school building and offers a bookable sauna and air-conditioned apartments with a fully equipped kitchen. Kuuksenkaari's apartments all feature free internet access and a washing machine. Kitchen facilities include a stove, microwave and fridge. Guests can relax on the shared, furnished terrace with forest views and BBQ facilities, or play ball games on the sandy field by the house. A traditional Finnish wood-heated sauna is also available for guests. Cross-country skiing trails are found in the surrounding area. Petkeljärvi National Park is a 25-minute drive away.

Nice and quiet place with dimming curtains in the bedroom for the midnight sun. A choir of birds greeted me every morning when opening the balcony. It was easy to cook a meal in the kitchen.

“A wonderful place to stay; I immediately felt at home!”
My guestroom – the former teacher's apartment in the upper floor of a beautifully renovated old village schoolhouse – was fabulously spacious. The kitchen, a great mixture of original kitchen interior and modern household appliances, was well equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The entire apartment made me immediately feel at home. My host gave me a warm welcome and told me about the history of the old building through the ages. The old school is located in a very peaceful area; and when you travel by car, Petkeljärvi National Park, Finland's Easternmost village Möhkö, and the Easternmost point of the EU, are easy to reach.
