Fantastic place to stay, great atmosphere and the owners and staff could not have been more hospitable. Also helped with local knowledge of where to go and organised black cat for our items back to the airport.

The lodge is pretty much a ski in ski out lodge. You won’t find this with all of the other Madarao lodges.The owners Mark and Abi were so helpful and went out of their way to make our stay easy and wonderful. BTW Abi is an amazing chef! Her food was awesome and cheap! Very friendly environment.

Loved the convenience of location- we boomed the family apartment which was actually in the madarao Kogen hotel (an absolute bonus)! We were able to use the hotel facilities and ski in/ski out which was an experience we loved, making each ski day super easy.

Great location, walkable to ski slopes and food venues. Amazing food - great cook. Warm and dry and helpful staff.

Attached free onsen was amazing, Mark was very helpful in driving us to the lodge and to the bus stop when leaving, ski gear hire was mostly good.

Excellent location a short walk from the ski slope. Mark and Abi are welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is hearty and delicious. Can highly recommend dinner at the Greenhouse Cafe. Our second stay here, great value for money and a lovely experience in a traditional lodge.

Abi and Mark were great hosts and their lodge was a great place for our family to stay during our week skiing. In house dining options were excellent and our family room was spacious and comfortable. Looking forward to coming back next ski trip.

“Amazing Christmas stay!”

We had the most magical Christmas at Madarao Mountain Lodge! The location was perfect, they had ski rental at fantastic prices and couldn’t do enough for us. Abby’s cooking was sensational. All of the staff were so kind and helpful, we are dying to go back!

Madarao Lodge is a great family run lodge in a very special resort. We enjoyed the breakfasts, dinner, drinks and accommodation. Definitely the best place to have dinner in Madarao too. Mark and Abby (Mayuka) go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay and enjoy the skiing. Highly recommend you staying at Mountain Madarao Lodge, 6 nights was too short.

Mayuko and Mark really made us feel welcome 🤗 We stayed in separate apartment so is not in main lodge and a short walk away ( although closer to ski runs ). Truly ski in ski out . Mayuko made the most exceptional food . We were there every night for dinner and loved the chilled vibe as well as the food and drinks . Best small lodge in Madarao .
