Overview
Only a 1-minute drive from the Madarao-Kogen Ski Resort, Pension Marodo offers a 24-hour hot public bath, ski gear rentals and a fireplace at the lounge. It features a charged washing machine and free parking. Home-made shinsu soba noodle dishes are available. Basic air-conditioned rooms feature carpeting, 2 single beds and yukata robes. Towels and toiletries are not included, and toilets and bathing facilities are shared. The Marodo serves a Japanese breakfast, while local dishes are available for dinner. Meals are offered at the dining room. Marodo Pension is a 13-minute drive from Madarao Tokyu Golf Club, while Nojiri Lake can be visited a 40-minute drive away. Iiyama Station is a 25-minute drive. If using the Shinkansen, we will transfer to JR Iiyama Station. Please let us know the arrival time of the train.

“Real Japanese Hospitality”
The place has a very relaxing and charming mountain lodge feel with a beautiful view. We enjoyed authentic delicious Japanese meals which were cooked by the son of the owners and they were genuinely hospitable. We felt completely taken care of.

Amazing price-quality balance and the only completely Japanese ran and owned accomodation in Madarao (or so we've been told by all the Australians there). The western breakfast was good, the beds soft and the family running the place an amazing example of Japanese hospitality. 🤍🇯🇵 You're also brought to the ski lifts and taken back and forth to the Iiyama train station (20min one-way drive) down in the valley with direct shinkansen service 2 hours from Tokio 🗼 with all your luggage - all included!

“Well located guest house with friendly staff and good food.”
Well located guest house in Madarao. Staff were excellent and very hospitable. Lift to/from the main ski area each day as required but we often walked as it was so close and easy. We were picked up from and dropped off at local train stations (Myokokogen and Iiyama respectively) by a staff member. Food was good particularly the one dinner we had at Maroudo. Onsen was a good temperature. Highly recommend.
