“Amazing hosts, beautiful location to reach the sights around Nagano.”

We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality at this guesthouse — the hosts made us feel genuinely welcome, as did their friends and fellow guests. Facilities matched or surpassed expectations, and the overall experience was simply great. The highlight? Being invited to join a BBQ with the hosts and their circle. Just amazing.

Kiyomi and her husband Toshi were wonderful hosts. They were very welcoming. Kiyomi was very interested in getting to know us and we had a great conversation with her about where we were from and what our plans were whilst in Japan. She was also kind enough to offer us some pippies for dinner which she was making for herself and her husband. We felt right at home :)

Kiyomi and her husband were absolutely fabulous and we loved the stay. They went out of their way to make the trip memorable and were kind enough to drop us off and pick us up from the train station each day. The traditional rooms were beautiful

“Wonderful rural homestay”

The hosts were super kind and friendly. They offer a pick-up and drop-off from Iiyama station. They even cooked my grocery-store gyoza for me in the morning! The home is very nice, exceptionally clean, and comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

The owners were very helpful and gave me rides to and from the train station. The kitchen is well setup and they made me tea when I arrived. Nice and peaceful setting

The hosts were incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming. They offered complimentary pick-up and drop-off service once a day and accommodated my request for vegan meals. The stay itself was cozy and comfortable, with essential amenities. It was a pleasant and homely experience.

This stay was one of the highlights of our whole trip. We slept in the traditional [quad] tatami room and talked to our hosts through a translator. I was a bit intimidated to be cooking my version of Japanese food in my host's kitchen but it was lovely to have access to both the stove and a little fridge. I was even able to leave my dry goods on the corner of the table so that I was not shlepping them back and forth to our room. Our hosts recommended a few activities, which we dutifully undertook - pretty much all of them. And, they did not disappoint. Snow monkeys, roadside restaurant, mountainside onsen and paper-making. We happily fell into bed each evening. Thank you so much for your kind hospitality.

We had an excellent stay at Guest House Hostel Yukuru! We had one night as we were travelling through the area, but felt welcomed in and right at home. The hostel was clean, welcoming, comfortable beds and nice and quiet. The hosts offered us some local dinner recommendations, great Soba!!

The hosts were amazing welcoming us into their home. A gorgeous home in a beautiful spot in the countryside. The room was traditional Japanese style and the pillows were great. The guests all chatted in the kitchen with the hosts and we could all enjoy time together. We could use the kitchen to cook and a fridge too. Such lovely people who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They recommended some fabulous activities in the local area which were great. We especially enjoyed the outdoor Onsen and the paper making experience. Outstanding .

The owners were extremely kind and helpful. They really took care of us and helped us organise our train trip for the next day which was wonderful. I highly recommend Yukuru for the warm family environment.

The hosts were so friendly and accommodating. We had a language barrier, but hand signals and translators not a problem. . It is 15min drive to Nowzaonsen, and 20mins to Togari - japanese families stay to take advantage of the ski fields.

The property was in a nice location close enough to Iiyama Station. The hosts were some of the nicest people we have met and drove us to and from the station (6:30am!!). One of the comfiest places we have stayed and hope we can go back soon.

The staff are an amazing couple, they helped us greatly in our short time there. Very clean Very comfortable beds and room They offer a ride to the train station if you contact them in advance.

The owners take you places as it's far from everything, and were kind enough to come twice when I had missed my train station. The area is very beautiful and house nice. Stay was good.

“Best place for a family stay in Iiyama!”

Everything! The most loveliest hosts, felt really like spending the stay in their family. Since vegan dinner options were rare in Iiyama, the host lady prepared a vegan vegetable stew and tofu as a side dish just for me and we had dinner together at their family kitchen table. ♡ Though communicating in English was a bit difficult, the 3 of them made an immense effort to communicate with me via Google translate - loved and enjoyed learning more about Iiyama, their life and Japanese culture so much! Also, met their lovely daughter Natsumi again by accident in Nozawa at Haus St. Anton a few days later which was lovely! :) Thank you for everything!!!
