We had an completely unforgettable stay here at Kyousen over two nights as one of several stops on our honeymoon tour of Japan. The building and decor is incredible, perched on the side of a beautiful stoney gorge. The staff were amazing, always attentive and at a level that any so called westerner should aspire to. Breakfast and dinner were different every day, with some very unusual dishes that whilst I may not have ordered through choice, I was more than happy to try and found several to be surprisingly very nice! If you're passing through like us, or anywhere nearby then do yourself a favour and book a stay here.

“Luxurious private gem”

The location was superb, the rooms look out over a scenic river gorge whilst maintaining privacy. The food was all a very high standard, immaculately prepared and presented. The in room bath was amazing, feeding from the hot spring in minutes, very luxurious.

“Best Ryokan ever”

Beautiful room with bath looking out to the river, fantastic staff, amazing hotel and it has a little onsen! They have a koi pond in the lobby aswell! Comfortable beds and very nice breakfast. Dinner is a 10 dish experience meal When we were checking out the staff asked us to wait so we could see the koi fish being fed! One of the best Ryokans we have EVER stayed at. Only thing to remember is if your taller than 6ft you may have to duck for the doorframes haha. P.S don't be afraid if you don't speak Japanese, the staff will use translators to help you! Thank you!
