Spacious, stylish, beautiful room in a peaceful location. The host was very friendly, and explained everything I needed to know about the house. The shared spaces – lounge area and kitchen – were also welcoming and well-equipped.

The tatami was one of the more comfortable ones ive slept on. Rooms and house was cool and had a great atmosphere.

Everything! It was perfect, a beautiful ryokan held by a very nice man. The beds (futons) were so comfortable and fluffy. Big rooms, lots of space, air conditioning and heating available. We could use the kitchen to prepare our meal. All the paintings and decoration looks so nice !

“Traditional Japanese Style, Hostel-Style Comfort”

The owner mentioned that this type of house is quite common in the area, but to me it felt like a wonderful example of a traditional Japanese home. The space was open and calming, making it easy to unwind and feel at ease.

This place is incredible, a beautiful traditional Japanese house. The man who welcomed us was very kind, and the house has all the information you need. He really thought of everything! In the morning, the breakfast he prepared for us was really delicious. I’m very happy I stayed here, and if I ever come back to this area, I’ll definitely return

My room was stunning and authentic. The communal areas were really comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly want - including lovely pottery. The host was extremely helpful and caring. Only 5 minutes walk from the station and 15 minutes to convenience stores. This would make an ideal base for trips to Hirazumi, the gorge, and the Goishi Coast - I really wish I had stayed longer.

“Great stay in countryside Japan!”

It was very peaceful! The house is beautiful and the bath is delightful after a long day of sightseeing. It is in the countryside and Shin-san is a lovely host ~ if you are doing a stopover in Ichinoseki or on your way to Sendai i would highly recommend. The rooms come with a lock on the outside as well as the inside.

“Lovely place 1 station away from Ichinoseki”

Cozy place in rural area 1 station away from Ichinoseki town. Everything was excellent! Even the bath - there was already the tub with hot water to relax in. Also enjoyed the breakfast Futons are comfortable and warm so we could sleep without the heater in the mid November

Very friendly staff which are happy to help you and answer questions. A clean and neat house in the classical Japanese style. It's close to the station and bus stop which makes it convenient. The bath is also great after a long day of sightseeing.

Very tranquil location, high quality tatami floors in a traditional Japanese house, free complimentary tea and cozy common area, nice with a warm bath available and the host was very kind. A cute goat on the property. really enjoyed the experience!

Nice traditional Japanese house.

The host was very nice and friendly! The breakfast prepared was also very yummy. The goat was cute too. The property was well-situated for us to visit key sights in the area like Genbikei, Geibikei, Chusonji, and Hiraizumi.

Very friendly host, we had a late check-in and he was ready for us to arrive. The room was nice, the common area had availability of tea and coffee and lots of stuff for reading.

I loved the place, the house is very pretty and it is calm. Close to the train station and to bus stops. The warm bath was a delight after a long day and Shin-san was very welcoming. We even gave us a ride at the train station the last day as there was no train. The Japanese breakfast was delicious 😋
