Boasting spacious natural hot spring baths and sand foot-bath, Ibusuki Syusui-en offers chic Japanese-style accommodation. JR Ibusuki Station is just a 5-minute drive away, and free shuttles are available between 14:00 and 15:00 with an advance reservation. The public area offers free Wi-Fi, and free parking is available on site. Fitted with large windows that offer plenty of sunlight, rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding. Guests can unwind in yukata robe, sipping green tea and watching satellite channels on a flat-screen TV. A bath tub and toiletries are included in the en suite bathroom. Guests at Ibusuki Syusui-en are welcomed with a cup of matcha tea and Japanese sweets. They can receive aromatic massages, or enjoy shopping at the on-site gift shop. Some hot spring baths can be reserved for private use at an additional fee. Mount Kaimon-dake is a 25-minute drive away, and Lake Ikeda is a 35-minute drive from the property. Kagoshima Airport is about a 2-hour drive or bus ride away. Saraku’s sand baths can be enjoyed within a 3-minute walk. Award-winning Japanese-style multi-course meals are prepared with seasonal ingredients and local delicacies, and served in the spacious dining room.

A wonderful traditional ryokan. The staff are lovely and very helpful. They will pick you up and drop you off at the JR station if you travel by train. Food is exceptional. Great location with a 3 minute walk to the sandbaths. The futons were very comfortable.

“Unique Japanese Ryokan Experiences at Ibusuki”
My wife and I had a wonderful Japanese ryokan experience at Syusuien. The service provided by the ryokan was top-notch, and we enjoyed genuine and unique traditional Japanese hospitality. We stayed for two nights, with breakfast and dinner included. Every dining experience was unique, featuring fine dining-quality dishes made with local Kagoshima seasonal ingredients. The room we stayed in offered beautiful ocean views, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing and tranquil moment at Ibusuki.

The food at dinner and breakfast was exceptional- couldn’t ménage full breakfast but quality was super! All staff great and the staff member looking after our stay Sarin (?) was so wonderfully caring and attentive/ - many thanks!
