“Location excellent but need a car”

Great location overlooking the sea but a little out of town so car very helpful

The property is very well located a short taxi ride from the train station, with a very good view, the sound of the ocean in the room, nice onsen and access to the beach. We had an issue with our ferry booking to yakushima that the staff with real effort sorted for us and the staff generally were friendly and helpful.

“A wonderful Ibusuki onsen and seaview experience”

The outdoor onsen is the highlight of this property. The scenery outside the room is stunning. It is just by the coast line. The servicing from staffs is very warm and helpful, particularly Gao Xiang who offered us great help in explaining the facilities, moving the luggages and arranging the taxi. The lady in uniform at the gate is extremely friendly and having exceptional service spirits. She, whose name I didn't manage to know, bowed when the guests took taxi leaving the hotel. I will come again!

“Authentic Coastal Onsen and sand bathing Experience”

We spent 2 nights at this hotel. The first night we did the Kaiseki fixed meal with the pork shabu-shabu. The presentation was beautiful and a wonderful selection of regional specialties. It was a very "Japanese"meal as was the preset breakfast. This is a great introduction to trying different foods. The staff are very attentive and helpful about explaining the food and how to eat it. It was a wonderful experience. We had the Japanese-Tatami mat room facing the ocean with a great view over the pool and bay. Good for sunrise photos. The outdoor pool was closed for the season but you could swim at the beach below. The indoor and outdoor onsen were nice with the outdoor onsen having views of the bay. As other reviewers have said the resort is a little dated but it is very clean and rooms spacious. Comfortable beds, yoga room, laundry and spacious lobby with panoramic views of the bay. The area had a lot to offer if you are active. Cycling, hiking and sandbathing as well as a visit to the Chiran Peace Memorial (very moving experience)and Samurai residences. Recommend doing sand bath in morning as afternoons very crowded. Opens at 0830 hrs. Hotel has shuttle to baths starting at 3:30pm. I would recommend staying here because the staff are all so helpful and pleasant. English spoken well by several staff members. Safe covered area for bicycles and motorbikes-just ask staff.

“Paradise!”

The hotel, staff and surrounding countryside could not have been better. The food and the onsen were also fabulous, I only discovered the outdoor hot spring on the last night and was in heaven bathing in the healing spring water whilst listening to nature in the lush green vegetation. Despite having limited Japanese language and understanding of the etiquette we were very warmly welcomed and taken care of. Thank you Ibusuki Royal Hotel!

“A great hotel for a relaxing stay”

What a lovely place to stay. Very comfortable large rooms, loved the retro 1970s vibe. Staff were so kind and helpful. Incredible views over the sea, perfect seeing the sunset. Very nice outdoor onsen

“Ibusuki hotel family stay”

The onsen, the staff were helpful, the pool was nice and access to a small beach area was good. It was quite expensive and the breakfast was expensive. However the coffee machine in the lobby was excellent.

“Great Ocean View at the reception area”

We stayed here in Apr 2024. The view at the reception area was amazing. The outdoor onsen was small but comfortable. The room size was great for 2 people. There was a super friendly cat at the carpark and he/she greeted us every time we drove in/out.

The hotel lobby is beautiful, the view from the room windows are beautiful sea views. The toom is big and comfortable. The onsen is big and clean.

“Relaxing, beautiful view onsen hotel”

Medium sized modern hotel on an elevated position overlooking the sea, mountains and Kaimondake. There is a swimming pool set in a pretty tropical garden, and a path down to a sandy beach. We stayed room only so can't comment on the meals, but the staff and the facilities were top notch. There's even a yoga room with video instruction on a loop.

“Peaceful get away”

Fantastic small private beach and food was amazing. Staff were very attentive and rooms very clean. I extended my stay from 3 to 4 nights to try a Japanese room which did not disappoint.

Located in the nature. Peaceful and quiet, to the city center a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive. Supermarket 10 minutes by walking away. An amazing place to recover your soul, with the silence around you. The best views ever from the rooms. Beach side, ocean, volcanos. The rooms are clean, comfortable and everything necessary is available. Super friendly stuff. The onsen is incredible.
