You will stay near the village of Hattstedtermarsch, just 2 km from the North Sea coast and in the middle of the Wadden Sea National Park. The Nordsee-Hotel Arlau-Schleuse offers a choice of comfortable rooms in different categories. The superior rooms offer a private terrace with a beach chair. The Deichgraf restaurant is located in the historic part of the building. It serves North Frisian specialties such as fish dishes. A wonderful hotel — honestly, it is hard to understand why this hotel has only three stars, as it feels much better than that. The location is exceptional, surrounded by beautiful nature and very peaceful. Everything was very clean, the breakfasts were delicious, parking was convenient, and bicycles can be rented directly at the hotel. Overall, an incredible place with a very special atmosphere — I will definitely come back again

We were only here for 1 night to travel towards Denmark but would have love to stay longer! Nice breakfast, the surroundings are amazing and peaceful. Good spot to explore the German coast!

“A well run hotel in a very special location.”
A well run hotel in an idyllic location on the edge of the marsh. A short climb up the sea wall opposite the hotel leads directly to a lovely circular nature trail. The staff were friendly and helpful, and my room was spacious, comfortable and clean. There was a good choice of food at breakfast. As the hotel is quite isolated, I chose to take my evening meals there and set menu provided a reasonable choice of well prepared dishes. There is also a small comfortable bar where, as a single traveller, I could read and enjoy a quiet drink.

“Where the geese and ducks live in the wind”
Situated deep in the countryside and yards from the dike. Modern accomodation with excellent food, breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Plenty of parking and space for the bikes in an outhouse. Very helpful staff. Only minus was the sloping rooves, which take some getting used to, particularly if you're tall.

“Our Third Stay at this wonderful traditional hotel with modern renovated facilities.”
A wonderful traditional German Nordsee retreat Returning for a third time, it was great to see that over the summer the improvements & renovations we have seen on previous stays have now been completed. With a New Sauna being wired in as we stayed. The 'reading room/lounge' complete with its self service coffee machine & drinks is a warm refuge if the weather prevents getting outside. We were not disappointed with the Breakfast! Eat as much and you want & take as long as you like. Dinner in the Restaurant is traditional fare & well served. Wines 7 Beers flow well & are very reasonably priced. To step outside of the hotel & be directly in the wonderful Wattenmeer Unesco biosphere with its incredible sights & sounds of large flocks of Geese & other birds is stunning, any Bird/Nature Lover will be very content here with many local places to observe with trails, hides & walks and two visitors centres in walking distance! If you are ok with Bicycles, this is the area for you with many Kilometres of dedicated Cycle paths. The Hotel has Electric Cycle Hire even! We will return in 2025!

“Perfect place for bird watchers”
We chose this hotel because there are several bird-watching cabins nearby, but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. The hotel is very nice and every room on the ground floor has a little terrace with its own typical "strandkorb". The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel's restaurant (Deichgraf) attracts a lot of people from the surrounding area, so table reservation is strongly recommended. We ate there twice and the food was excellent.
