“A wonderful evening at the Palace Hotel in Hultsfred”

I have now read many reviews and wonder if a few guests are from another planet and if we have been to the same hotel? A rating of 1 gives a very bad hotel. No, this is really not true. Palace Hotell in Hultsfred is a gem! The hotel is so incredibly cozy and British rustic with touches of gold. Someone wrote about old furniture and then I wonder what that could be? And what is wrong with old furniture? It is charming. The most important thing is the beds and they are like fluffy mangled clouds of cleanliness and coziness. The towels too. From the shared balcony I look out over Lake Hulingen which has a long walking path along the edge of the lake, nice with rich birdlife and then finish with coffee in the local history museum (check if they are open). Something else fun is to ride the narrow gauge railway between Hultsfred and Västervik, they may have a Christmas trip left, otherwise it is especially summer that applies. But I still can't let go of this person who gave a 1a rating even though the staff was very nice and gave them some extra benefits, as I understand it, and also got a good dinner and breakfast. What a strange attitude! Just enjoying the specially designed monogram on the china and towels is a joy for the eyes! The hotel is not large and not standardized like a hotel chain but personal and warm. Each room has its own character. The staff is fantastic. We have had a wonderful evening at the Palace hotel in Hultsfred and I am still enjoying the Wallenbergare we had for dinner and the luxurious breakfast served with, among other things, freshly baked lussekatter just for us (it was Lucia), when we happened to oversleep. We will gladly come here again!

It's a cute little hotel with a good breakfast and friendly staff. The gentleman who might have been the manager was especially helpful — he was there all the time. I would definitely recommend the Palace Hotel, especially if you're visiting Astrid Lindgren's World.

Local, small hotel. Very attentive staff. They have rang prior to arrival checking if dinner was needed as chef would stay longer. It was a cold night and extra heater was delivered to room and I got help with carrying bags upstairs!

Room, Restaurant and Breakfast were terrific. Personal was very friendly. Although the surrounding and the outside are not very inviting, the hotel inside is just great. Our stay was a real delight.

Breakfast was good, with a nice selection of items (though not always replenished); location is quite central and close to major road axis. The double room is spacious. Our had a shared balcony.

Personal and service-minded reception. Very good breakfast buffeé. Plus for upgrade to exceptional suite with two bathrooms and an enormous bathtub, which exceeded our expectations and made our stay a wonderful getaway. I'd say you don't find hotels like these in larger cities.

Fantastic breakfast. Very impressed. The manager/owner was also fantastic. He was involved in everyday events and made sure all of our needs ands desires were attended to. We'll stay here again. Loved our evenings outside on the patio.

An oasis in the middle of a hotel desert

Palace Hotel in Hultsfred is a pearl. It is nice, cosy and clean. Beautifully folded cloth napkins and other details giving it that little extra feeling. It is not strict, however, but warm and cosy. Just watching the enormous mirror with a golden frame in the dining room was worth a visit. The beds are clean and very comfortable and the television provides a wide range of watching opportunities such as Netflix and I noticed even some channels in German and other languages. The breakfast and dinner are professionally arranged, and there is ample and delicious food. It´s a great idea and a generous offer to serve both dinner and breakfast as part of the hotel price. The open-air restaurant is nicely built up with a beautiful fountain and lovely big plants. It feels as if you are in a Mediterranean setting. The owners are simply super and will do everything to make their guests feel welcome. It is also wonderful that dogs are permitted in certain rooms. If you want to travel around and discover the surroundings, this is the place to stay even if you decide to go to the town of Vimmerby or the village of Lönneberga. The bus and train stations are just outside the hotel, and the hotel also offers free parking. This is a base for daily excursions and it would let you long for every dinner. It is a really pleasant environment and you will be treated with a true service feeling.
