“Worst ever.”
It was the worst experience. Our room was changed without any prior notice. The suite we had booked was given to another guest without our consent. The standard rooms we were offered instead were not clean. We are a family of four and had booked a suite for three nights. However, upon arrival, we were informed for the first time that the suite had become unavailable due to a plumbing issue that occurred the day before. Without any advance notice, we were asked to accept two standard rooms instead. This is unacceptable. Given that we have small children, being split into two separate rooms is far from ideal. Had we been informed in advance, we could have arranged alternative accommodation. The standard rooms were not clean, with broken showers and shelves. Additionally, there was neither a hairdryer nor a bathtub, which we had specifically requested. Initially, we were told that despite the downgrade, the price would remain the same—an outrageous suggestion. After lodging a complaint, we received a partial discount of approximately 15%, and were told that once the suite was repaired, we could move in. The next day, it seemed the suite had become available, but without informing us, the hotel allowed other guests to use it. We were told we could only move in after those guests checked out. This is incomprehensible. We protested again, but their explanation was: “We assumed you were already asleep around 7 PM when the suite became available, so we didn’t want to disturb you. Then another guest suddenly requested a room, so we gave them the suite.” This explanation is unacceptable. We were told we could move as soon as the suite was ready. Ironically, although they claimed they didn’t want to disturb us at 7 PM, they had no issue knocking on our door after 9 PM on the last night to request payment. Their statements are inconsistent and show no sincerity. If you don’t want your room changed without notice or your booked room given to someone else, find other hotels.
