Humberto, the host, is really lovely and kind. He’s got lots of advice to give about what walks to do and is also very relaxed and easy to talk to. The house has a few volunteers living there too who have been there longer term so it feels more like you’re staying at a house of friends than in a hostel. They also have 3 very cute dogs!

I loved my stay at Qumir Packers. It felt more like a co-living than a hostel, it's cozy and informal. The owner is so nice and easy-going, I felt completely at ease.

Amazing place that feels like home! If you‘re looking for a comfortable stay in Huaraz, I can highly recommend Qumir Packers. It is very central, close to shops and restaurants and the host Humberto is very helpful if you need advice on hiking trips etc. Bonus points for the cute hostel doggos :))

“Home from home in Huaraz”

Had a great stay at Humberto's place. Everyone was welcoming, felt like home and liked being able to use the kitchen and dining area. Nice outside patio garden with seats in the sun and shade. This place is a real climbing and outdoors hub and a good base between trips to the mountains. Not too far to Plaza de Armas and the laundry nearby is useful.

The owner is exceptionally kind and helpful. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. Could store my luggage for free when I went on a multi day hiking trip. The cat and two dogs are super sweet.

Humuerzo the owner was really kind, friendly and helpful, and assisted with hiking in the area. The dorms were clean and I loved the small courtyard to hang out in, in the sun (or shade).

“Great hostel with beautiful Garden”

This was my second time in Qumir Packers. It was a great experience! The host Humberto is really nice and helpful. The room was clean and the kitchen well-equipped. The hostel has a big beautiful garden with a chill out area with nice sofas. I would really recommend it!

“Fantastic hostel for travellers who want to rock climb/trek/hike Huaraz”

I really enjoyed my stay at Quimir Packers! Humberto was a fun, personable host who helped orient me to take advantage of local hikes, day tours and rock climbing opportunities. There is such a wonderful vibe at this hostal, especially for backpackers into rock climbing and/or trekking who want to meet like minded people. I took full advantage of the well equipped kitchen, spacious common areas, hot water shower, lovely garden seating, and decent Wifi. There are big lockers, comfortable beds, and lots of interesting travelers to meet here! It's just a 10 minute walk to the bus station El Rápido and central touristy plaza or 20 minutes to the market. The neighborhood felt family oriented and very safe (there is actually a police station right next to the hostel)! Highly recommended as a jumping off point to take advantage of all the awesome outdoor experiences around Huaraz!

“Felt like home”

One of my favourite hostel experiences ever. Humberto makes you feel like home from the first minute and gives you lots of recommendations for activities in Huaraz. He even took me rock climbing one day, had so much fun! Luckily I was staying at this place when I got sick for 2 weeks, I was taken care of in the best and sweetest way. Don't think that I ever was sick and still had so much to laugh about everyday haha. I already miss the little hostel family, especially the cutest andean lion of the world. “Once you arrive, you never want to leave.”

The hostel is like a small family with incredibly dear two and four legged friends. There is a lovely kitchen, a small garden to soak up some sun and cosy seating. When I was sick, I was super looked after, which was super sweet! With the funny and generous Umberto, I was allowed to go on excursions with other guests. The atmosphere in the hostel is super cosy. The location is perfect, as it is close to Plaza Armas and in a quiet area. You can do your own laundry for 10 soles. You get a very warm welcome at the hostel, they always help you with your questions and give you a few more laugh lines. Thanks for everything and see you soon!

Humberto is a great host! Very friendly, fun and cool. Very welcoming environment. Useful kitchen, pleasant beds and hot shower. Cute dogs and a cat. We wish we could stay longer. It is not only a hostel it is an experience.
