Nice and homely hostel. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the local area and always happy to give suggestions. Chilled, draws a active traveller vibe so less of a party hostel. Fireplace in the main area for cold evenings. Short walk down to town and plenty of local eateries nearby.

Such a cosy and welcoming environment, we’ve felt completely at home here and extended our stay for an extra week! Family run hostel and everyone who works here are SO kind and helpful. Chris was always on hand to answer questions about hikes and give advice. Kitchen is well equipped and has a filter for drinking water. Our room was clean and warm and the bed was really comfortable. Hot showers that never run cold. Simple but delicious breakfast offered every morning on the rooftop (with beautiful views over the Cordillera). A real home away from home, they even have a fire that’s lit on chilly evenings. HIGHLY recommend staying here!

“Fantastic!”

Kame house was exceptional. We had a large comfortable room, hot showers and a great location. Highlight for us was the staff - Chris is extremely accomodating and helpful. We absolutely loved our time in Huaraz because of this. We intended to stay 3-6 days and ended up staying for 13. The cooking facilities are great.

A very chilled hostel in a great location. Spectacular views of the surrounding mountains from the roof top and the family running the hostel did all they could to make my time there as enjoyable as possible

Feels like home. Chris and his parents really make you feel at home. The common area's are cozy, especially with the fire place in the evenings. It's very close to the centre and lots of good and cheap restaurants. On the terrace you have an nice view over the city and some amazing sunsets. You can book all sorts of tours with Chris, including Huayhuash.

Very backpackerfriendly. Staff is also helpful and kind. If you do a multiple day hike, you can leave your bags and on the day you return you can use the facilities for only 10 soles if you leave on that day.

“Wonderful vibe for a great price”

Excellent atmosphere, very nice staff. Comfortable beds, no noise overnight. Hot shower. Large social spaces both downstairs by the fire and upstairs on the roof terrace. Linked with Chris' tour company, which was very helpful. Large kitchen which has a nice community feel.

Hostel was a short walk from the main town, staff were helpful, roof terrace was nice to chill out on.

Staff are super friendly and have the best advice on the hikes around Huaraz. Comfy warm beds in the dorm and always hot water. Nice chill atmosphere

I had an amazing stay at this hostel! Everything was spotless and very well maintained, which made it super comfortable. The views of the mountains from here are absolutely breathtaking, the perfect place to relax and take it all in. What really made the experience special, though, was the staff. Chris, Eli, Carla, Carmen, and Marta were all incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. They truly go above and beyond to make you feel at home. I can’t recommend this place enough, I’d love to come back!

love the eco-friendliness - only time i see recycling in a place in peru! Martha and Chris were great. booked an 8-day Huayhuash trek with Highlands Eco Expeditions also owned by Chris, great experience :) buildings and rooms in huaraz are a bit old, so actually that is normal

The owner and the people working there are great! They are super friendly, helpful and Chris is always willing to support you in organising any kind of trip!! I did a tour with his company and it was very well organized with good (vegan if wanted) snacks!
