The staff were really fantastic, the food and cleanliness were superb. I cannot say enough about the staff and the beauty of the hacienda. However, we purposefully booked a room with a soaker tub which I was very excited about. They are not common in hotels here! However, there was not the hot water to fill more than 1/4 of the tub - so this was very disappointing. We tried on three separate occasions to see if there would be enough - but no. There were nicer rooms - but we really wanted the tub. When I inquired about the hot water the staff was super quick to respond - but ultimately even with the attempt to use the boiler after several hours (from solar) - not enough hot water. On the final morning we could not even have a hot shower. Normally we do not mind - it can be quite normal in Mexico - but for the $ they charge we expected hot water. Everything else was fantastic.

Lovely old fortified hacienda restored very simply but with style. Very pleasant staff and friendly cat and dogs. Good food. Bedrooms are spacious and have the important things - comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. Excellent little gallery and shop.

We loved the quiet, simple serenity. The gift shop art displays, photography, and installations are thoughtful and respectful to the local history and culture. We loved the dogs and walks around the property.

This place is a really great getaway from the hustle and bustle of Mexico City! Located in the middle of corn fields with rustic charm and beautiful views of La Malinche, we had a truly relaxing stay at the hacienda. The staff are very friendly and the food they served was delicious! There are four guard dogs that are very friendly and followed us on walks through the cornfields as well as slept outside our bedroom door at night.

The location is spectacular. It's as beautiful as the photos indicate. I walked every day on the extensive grounds, past cornfields and forested ravines. I had a view of La Malinche out my back door. The hacienda itself is quite special, and the very simple decor, with no internet, was a tonic. The food was excellent. The staff are all super nice. The owner, Javier, is a lovely person, and very helpful. Even the hacienda's dogs were nice.

Incredible location in the Mexican countryside, beautiful castle-like building that was 300 years old with an iglesia as well! Carlos and his staff were super lovely and helpful. Right at the foot of the volcano La Malinche, which is well worth the trek up! The hacienda staff can help you plan and get there.
