A tranquil, tropical garden setting with distant views overlooking the lush valley from the deck of my rustic unit. Unit was self-contained and equipped to meet needs with hospitable hosts, Jan & Jr, accommodating personal requirements & preferences. Comfortable bed and ambient lounge room with colourful decor & cultural artefacts. Lovely staff member, Priscilla, ensured cleanliness and comfort, too. An unexpected bonus was a freshly, home-made jar of pickled cucumbers generously presented by Jan! Hosts personally facilitated access to the spectacular, not-to-be-missed Tenaru Falls with the trek to, swim at and trek out a highlight of my Solomons adventures!

The guys running this place are super friendly, and offer a nice, home-grown concept which is wholesome. However, you can not deny that this is very overpriced for what you actually get. No AC/ amateurish set-up/ no kitchen equipment.

Friendly and flexible host. Kitchen was equipped enough for cooking a real meal. Washing machine. Wifi was good enough for work. Airport transfer smooth both ways. I enjoyed his own tour (he offers several), saw what I ewanted to see. Nice view, for chilling on balcony. Shop with basics and beer a charming 20-minute walk through a local area. Finally, a really cool anti-mosquito kitchen door curtain which closes with magnets! JR a good guy.

“It made me make the most of my stay”

I enjoyed my stay at the Island Home. The property is basic but lovely. It is well connected to the downtown and central market by frequent shuttle buses that go up and down the hill. JR and his family were welcoming and provided me with useful information and tips on how to move around.

We was welcomed with a wonderful sign welcoming us home to solomon islands For our first visit with my solomon son born in australia. We felt very comfortable at the island home, beautiful gardens and close to central area. Hosts are amazing and helpful with any questions or advice.available on whatsapp anytime you have a question, Highly reccomend if your wanting the real island home stay experience. Safe area also.

The host family showed us great warmth and hospitality. Although very basic ,it showed us how a family life is.

Very nice room and amenities all around, warm water and towels provided, good kitchen. Just Bring earplugs as it can get loud in this area at night at weekends.

Comfortable bed, nice balcony and with a small kitchen which is sufficient to cook a meal. Landlord is friendly and helpful.
