The free private onsen was a treat. The shared ones as well, we loved being outside. The kaiseki dinner was memorably excellent.

The location is good and the pre set meal was an experience and very well executed. The onsens were relaxing after lots of walking .

An excellent stay. The staff could not do enough for you. The facilities and room were excellent - particularly the private and public onsens. Dinner and breakfast were a great voyage of Japanese dishes and were all extremely tasty and filling.

The private onsens were amazing and well worth not having an ensuite shower. Perfect after the day's challenging hike, and also because of my tattoos. No booking ahead of time required too. Food (kaiseki) was refined, fantastic, and very filling. We also really liked the cafe at the public bath side which had beer (draft, bottled, local craft, commercial), ice cream, and other izakaya style food.

Room is clean and big. Amenities are complete. They have a beautiful compound along thr river. We even see a deer! The hotel also provided a free shuttle to and fro Honggu taisha for sightseeing. We have a lovely dinner in the hotel.

“Fantastic experience”

Marvellous food at dinner with fish and meat, excellent breakfast. Waiters and waitress: accurate, friendly, professional, a very high level rare to find. Super well organised hotel, magnificent service of the reception. We were very happy with the large private onsen outside, it is very relaxing with no limit on the duration, with plants and no mosquitos. Everything super easy. Hotel and dinner/breakfast not crowded.

The bath are great, very beautiful and very big. The private baths are very big! The breakfast was nice but there was too much to eat.

The private on sens which they had 4 so plenty and very nice. Breakfast was also nice but it's the natural and nature setting that was very nice, central enough to have all the mod cons but on the other hand remote enough so you felt with nature and quiet. Staff was very nice and helpful too. There also is a good laundry opposite that washes and dries, was very handy to use after many days on the road. Night is also colourful with very lovely light display was a surprise.

“Classic onsen hotel”

Beautiful location fabulous onsen. Private onsens easily available and included in the booking. This is a lovely classic hotel. The staff are helpful and very friendly. We didn’t book any meals but there is an on-site cafe that served reasonable good quality meals. The bridge over the river is lit up at night looks so pretty.

I booked the meal at the hotel, both breakfast and dinner. Absolutely delicious.

4 nice private onsen are available with no need to book in advance; otherwise public onsen is available nearby the hotel. Good and large dinner. Old fashioned structure but with onsen and dinner was a very nice stay.
