“Basic comfortable and clean in a good location”
Great location close to Kanawa Onsen bus stop and right on the Oto River. Good clean quiet room with basic amenities (tv, kettle, fridge) and private toilet. There is no shower, bathing is in the public indoor onsen.

“a practical option for a stay in this spa town. good value for little money”
it is a decent budget option... but do expect "budget". they do have a free Onsen, which is fine, but like the rest of the hotel, it is very dated. overall, good value for money, but far from a luxury experience.

The accommodation isn’t bad. It’s simple but effective. The river views are very relaxing and beautiful. The self-check-in system was confusing and complicated, especially if you had more than one room, as was my case. The onsen was good. In the area, there are only a couple of restaurants and a bus stop.

It's in a good location for catching the bus to Koguchi in the morning. The view of the mountain across the river from our window was lovely.

The meals, served at the neighbouring hotel, generally were very good. The outdoor onsen (also at the next door hotel) was fantastic.

The quality of the meals at Midoriya was overall very good. The onsen was also fabulous.
