Amazing meals in a historical setting

This place made me feel like royalty. The food is out of this world, and our room, in impecable japanese style, had a view to the main street of Yunomine. Staff were very helpful, reception was very informative. The lady who served our meals, Aria, provided perfect service in perfect English (besides speaking Japanese, Indonesian and Korean). Adumaya is right in front of Tsuboyu and the bus stop to other areas of the Kumano Kodo.

A delight really. Dinner was amazing, and bathing in an onsen after trekking Kumano Kodo was a treat.

Wonderful authentic Ryokan

The staff was extremely welcoming and cheerful. The dinners left us speechless: authentic Japanese cuisine, absolutely delicious. The Ryokan and its inhouse onsen is one of the oldest wooden buildings, we loved its charm even with all that comes with it (you hear everything and it can be a little drafty)! It was a wonderful stay.

Memorable and comforting

Very friendly staff who served our meals. We met Miwa 6 years ago at this ryokan, we met her again this year. It amazing to see how passionate her has in her work here. Nakano was very friendly and he explained all the dishes he served us during breakfast and dinner!

Lovely location but property needs some maintenance and Modernisation of facilities.

The traditional Japanese Ryokan run by same family for several generations. The location and great food. Lovely staff. Hottest onset out of 4 onsen stays on our travels. The outdoor onsen was superb. Warm bedding.

A special place for an authentic japanese experience

Staying in a charming ryokan is a great , unique and lovely experience. Having the opportunity to experience such a special place in such a lovely ryokan with a very long tradition in combination with the amenity of the host’s perfect command of the English language is bliss. The place is perfect to walk a nice part of the Kumano Kodo trial and to enjoy the excellent japanese cuisine.

The Ryokan is very stylish. It is in a great location, in the middle of the Kii peninsula, surrounded by all the pilgrim trails. While close to the road, it is quiet and rather silent. The personnel is great - warm and welcoming. The kitchen is very tasty. Onsen is rather spacious and there are both external and internal baths.

Wonderful old inn with a timeless onsen (old timber), spacious room and the most magnificent kaiseke dinner and traditional breakfast. Wait staff were super helpful. This place is full of charm. Loved it.
