Onsens in this place are really amazing! If you stay there, there is no need to use the public baths that are in town cause those that are in the hostel are really good - especially the outside onsen!

“Amazing!”
I felt simply great there from the very first moment. I was shown where everything was and how to do things. There are 3 private onsens that are free to use, where you can lock yourself in and enjoy. The location is nice too. Thank you for even providing a 10% discount to the restaurant nearby, where they prepare healthy and delicious steamed food.

“Great location, great staff, comfortable. Would stay again.”
Perfect location - 2 minutes walk to the main river and evening bar/restaurant. Beautifully decorated, traditional house. Has three separate onsen baths, two inside one outside - all excellent.

“Very Good. Recommended stop on Kumano Kodo Trail.”
Well appointed hostel. Yunomine is well worth an overnight stop. Selection of snacks and drinks available for purchase. Good local restaurant nearby. Strongly recommend getting the bus from Hongu rather than walking.

The host was very kind and helpful. There were in-house onsen, a resting room with a lovely view of the mountains, and a kitchen with free tea and coffee, as well as cup noodles and chips for sale. I stayed in a Japanese style bunk bed that was very cosy and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Bunk beds (pods) were clean and spacious with a curtain. I originally booked two days but because it was busy, the staff let me change it down to 1 day with a refund. This was up to them, so it was kind to do so. The staff were English speaking and were very friendly. The facilities were good, and the hostel had a very friendly atmosphere to it. Not all hostels manage this.

Loved the 3 private on site onsens. Opened 24hours and much needed after out hike. We took the advice of the staff to eat at a near by resturant which was so good as we hadnt come across lots of fresh veggies on our travels.

“Amesome!”
It was perfect. The best setup of a hostel dorm I've ever stayed at, it was almost like having your own tiny room. It was also clean, had free towels (uncommon for a hostel), super friendly staff, cozy common room. Definitely recommend!
