Would love to stay again. Beautiful location to explore this historic village and greater Hongu area. Facilities and staff were excellent, the highlight being the hot spring bath and amazing food provided. Hot spring coffee is the best we’ve had in Japan!

The food blew my mind! The hospitality was awesome! In house onsen was clean and easy to access, especially at 5am - perfect.

“Ok but expensive”

The Guest House Takiyoshi is conveniently placed at the end of the Akigoe-pass of the Kumano Kodo, the reason why we chose it. The staff was really friendly and helpful, they helped with our laundry and also with the bus timetables. The dinner and breakfast served was really delicious and plentiful. Especially awesome after a 25km hike! Only downside of this place were the uncomfortable and rather thin futons. Our backs were hurting a lot when we woke up and our sleep was restless. Also, the price performance ratio compared to other inns and ryokans we stayed in didn’t feel quite right. We had to put out the futons by ourselves, the room was really tiny and there was no ensuite bathroom. All negligible - if it was for a lesser price.

Amazing, we had a great stay at Guest House Takiyoshi. The guest house is very well located in Yunomine Onsen Our stay here was the highlight of our trip doing the Kumano Kodo The staff were wonderful and looked after us very well and went to great effort to provide me with gluten-free meals during our stay. It was very much appreciated. The accommodation was very clean, and the hotels onsen was excellent at the end of a day spent walking. Sharon and Silvio Australia

The osen the tatami room is clean and comfortable The food is superb I drove there, the car park just next to it, fantastic location The つぼ湯osen there in da town has had 1800years od history and the water has amazing healing power
