YHA Mei Ho House features modern and comfortable accommodation offering twin rooms, double rooms, family rooms and dormitory rooms. Conveniently located in Sham Shui Po, the hostel operates a 24-hour front desk. Free Wi-Fi is provided in the entire property. A 5-minute walk from Sham Shui Po MTR Station, YHA Mei Ho House is a 35-minute drive to Hong Kong International Airport. Lan Kwai Fong is 6 km away while Repulse Bay is 11.3 km from the hostel. “I appreciated the city's melancholy character all the more after 3 years later.”
Hong Kong is Hong Kong, always giving one that sense of bustling congestion. Guests rave about this hostel's excellent facilities and prime location. Yet due to space constraints, the rooms feel rather cramped. And unfortunately, I ended up with two snorers whose loud noises made sleep a veritable adventure, given the completely open layout. What surprised me most was the lack of interaction among roommates; we moved about the room like ghosts.

The location is good, 500 meters from Sham Shui Po station, so you can take public transportation from the airport to the hostel. The hostel has a museum about the history of housing that was originally in an underdeveloped area, which is worth visiting and is free. There is a shared kitchen, air conditioning in the common areas, and the cleanliness is very good. They lend umbrellas, which is good because it rained almost every day in Hong Kong in June. The staff is very friendly and attentive. If you arrive early, you can leave your luggage in the luggage room for free.
