Location is the best for exploring the city as it is next to the MTR. Rooms were space and very comfortable. Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Excellent location a few steps from HKU metro station. The room was incredibly comfortable and clean - the blackout blinds were great. The rooftop pool was also lovely!

The staff are kind and helpful, especially Jimmy at the front desk and the server in the lobby bar (I did not catch her name). The location is very central which is super convenient.

Location was walking distance from HKU MTR and ideal for what I wanted. Room was spacious and the waterfront boardwalk was a great place for my morning runs. Staff were friendly and helpful, along with the housekeeper during my stay!

While we had read some of the recent reviews before our stay in Nov 2025, we had thought that a hotel under the Shangri La brand cannot be that bad. Well, it wasn't good either, and apart from the title, NOTHING here is worthy of the Shangri La brand... While the room amenities are comfortable, and the room was fixed everyday, amenities are a bit old, especially the bathroom. The place was clean enough, but not good enough for the price point. There was a persistent slight smell of sweat in the room everyday, and you couldn't do anything about it, given that you couldn't open a window. The hallways on our floor were very similar. There was construction going on the upper floors, but that didn't bother us, we didn't hear much noise. The location for a tourist is underwhelming, to say the least. It's HK, so it's still easy to move around with public transport (metro stop just next door), however, make no mistake, this is NOT at all a touristic area, and it's on the poorer side of the main island. Still safe and relatively close by to more touristy areas, but surroundings are rather depressing.

“Enjoyable stay in Hotel Jen.”
The location is very convenient and surrounded by lots of eatery. MTR and the tram just around the corner. The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel arranged a connecting room for us with one of the room specially for elderly.
