The whole experience was excellent. Juan was an amazing and accommodating host. He was an excellent chef. The surrounding area is breathtaking. It's a ten minute drive to Hondoribbia and a half hour drive to San Sebastian. It felt like a little paradise tucked away into the mountains while still being accessible to towns and cities nearby. We had such a memorable time.

This place is so beautiful. Tranquil and idyllic, surrounded by farmland and vineyards. Just 30 mins away from San Sebastian and 10 mins from Hondarribia. Juan is a perfect host. Breakfast consists of homemade offerings and hot scrambled eggs. Dinner was superb too. We had an upstairs room which was clean and spacious. There is no lift. We particularly enjoyed the large and cosy common spaces for relaxation.

This was a very peaceful location, with good hiking from the property. We were very glad we decided to have dinner here, because Juan is an excellent chef and the food was exceptionally good. Safe covered parking was important to us too.

Casa Mendilore is a beautiful and tranquil place, though still close to everything Hondarribia and San Sebastian have to offer. Juan is an amazing host and did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was wonderful.

Juan was very welcoming on arrival. Room & all facilities were wonderful. Lovely breakfast in very tranquil surroundings. Did not have the opportunity to sample evening meal - maybe next time.

“Best property in the Basque Country area.”
This is the best property in the whole area and one of the best places I’ve stayed in my life. The owners are lovely, the rooms are perfect, the renovated barn is interesting and the area is lovely with hiking and biking paths. Make sure to have dinner at the property- it was the best meal of our trip.

It is set in the most beautiful location. Our host was so helpful and welcoming and the attention to detail here in the room and the public spaces is amazing. Coffee, tea, pots of sweets and nice locations to sit out in the house and in the garden. Easy to access but very peaceful. It is a 10 min drive into Hondarribia. Breakfast was superb with many of ingredients made at home or local.
