“Best stay in our Mexico trip”

The best stay in our Mexico trip, let me tell you why: - Quiet room! We slept in until 10 am easily. And we could also darken the room (pretty rare in Mexico!) - Great location! We rented some bikes and reached the island center within 10 minutes. But were far away to enjoy the peacefulness of the island. - Amazing bed, nice view from the rooftop terrace and an amazing host, Jose, who literally went above and beyond for our comfort.

Very friendly owners and staff who couldn’t do enough to help us. Big room. Close to beach. Amazing view from the mirador. Lots of areas to sit and relax in We had a lovely stay here and would recommend it if want a secluded stay away from town

“Wonderful”

Great hosts (Mia and Jose) and other employees that really make you feel welcome, Very clean and serene hotel. The location was a surprise as the vibe around hotel is laid back and relaxing and beaches there are very nice compared to beaches closer to town.

Our time at Atenea Holbox was great! The hosts are so friendly! They try to do everything for you! The communication was awesome and the breakfast was delicious! Our room had a lot of space, was really clean and the furniture is comfortable. The accomodation is just a view steps away from the beach and it takes a nice 20 min walk to Holbox center. We would highly recommend booking it!

“Perfect!”

It whas a beatifull room in a very nice building surrounded by a beautifull garden with a nice swimmingpool. The host José and his wife and staff were very friendly and helpfull. Anything you asked they arranged it. Realy a place to come back to.

What a beautiful room with all the little details you'd want to make a cosy and lovely stay! Jose and Mia are so accommodating and helpful - They went out of their way to speak to us and make sure everything was ok with our stay. They gave advice and helped to get any information we needed. As with anywhere isn Holbox there is construction nearby, however the rooms were pretty sound proof, so this did not impact our stay. We liked being outside of the town as we were away from the hustle and bustle. There is a beach less than 5 mins walk, with we pretty much had to ourselves - a beautiful spot. Thank you so much for having us!!

“Lovely stay in the quieter part of Holbox”

Friendly hosts who went over and above to make your stay enjoyable, Beach was 50 metres away and there were plenty of bars to keep you occupied and also the Pelicans! Watching them diving into the sea to feed in synchronisation was awesome

“Lovely place close to beach”

Beautiful big room, comfortable beds, nice balcony, it’s close to the beach and hosts are really lovely people.

The rooms are clean and well-maintained, common area is nice, the host is very welcoming helpful and responsive.

“Gorgeous hotel and hospitable owners”

The hotel itself is gorgeous, tastefully decorated, with views of the sea, in a quiet yet easily reachable location - and a lovely swimming pool; but what really stood out for me was the generosity and the hospitality of the owners. We were supposed to stay for one night but then I got ill. Jose and Mia kindly let me stay 2 more nights and only charged me for one. They also arranged for a doctor to come to the hotel and Mia also prepared food for me as I had a sensitive stomach. Thank you for everything; hoping to come back some day :)

“Paradise”

Great hotel. We loved hanging around the swimming pool and swimming in the sea closeby. The common kitchen was very useful for our group. Jose and Mia were very nice and helpful hosts. Thanks!

Fantastic hotel located close by the most beautiful beach at a quite area in Holbox. Mia and Jose are the best hosts, you can ever dream of. Highly recommended!!

“perfect stay!”

First of all the hosts Jose and Mia; they're extremely friendly and helpfull. They run the hotel with a lot of personal care and consideration. Besides that the garden and pool are great! It's a small and quiet place with a great athosphere. At 2 minute walking distance from the beach and close to a small shop and several restaurants. We had the large room above the kitchen for 2 adults and 2 kids and it was perfect <large, good beds, nice shower, balcony, fridge, coffee etc. I would certainly recommend the place for a stay on Holbox. Very good value for money.

“Easy and beautiful”

Loved everything. Very simple. Clean. Gorgeous location. One minute walk to the beach. There’s a beach club right in front that doesn’t have a minimum spend. It’s a fifteen minute walk to town down the beach and twenty minutes back by road if it’s high tide. So we had peace and quiet and also for some casual exercise. We also visited the local dog shelter right in the town next to the softball field. Is the nicest shelter I’ve been to and you can take the dogs for walks or just go and play with them. The have a big space to roam around and they don’t feel caged and miserable. Loads of tourists would stop in and take a dog out. It was gorgeous.

“Like staying in paradise!”

The hosts Mia & José were really welcoming and engaged to make our stay on the island Holbox the best. They had plenty of honest and great recommendations, not trying to convince us to do anything or making impossible promises but realistic and according to our wishes. It's like being in paradise. The room with sea view and the hotel with it's pool, rooftop and breakfast-option are beautiful. It has a calm surrounding and is just a minute walk to the beach. It's a bit off the beaten path, which was perfect for us, we prefered to have the empty white beach for us anyways and didn't mind the walks to get to the restaurants and shops. The center of Holbox seemed rather noisy and hectic.

5 stars all around! Jose and Mia are exceptional hosts—attentive, welcoming, and genuinely care about ensuring your satisfaction. As an architect, I appreciated the spacious rooms and the attention to detail in design and compliance. The hotel is just 2 minutes from the beach and close to the bioluminescent bay. We also enjoyed getting to know Jose and Mia better—they’re fascinating people. I highly recommend Atenea and thank them for their amazing hospitality!

“Great place.”

The hotel is very nicely furnished. The owners are super nice and supportive, speaks really good English. The hotel is not in the center, but you can reach the center within 30 minutes walk, although there are restaurants close to the hotel, so you don’t even need to go to the center. The beach, which is 100m from the hotel is very calm and the sea is beautiful.

“Had an amazing stay in an amazing hotel with the best hosts!”

The hotel is not too big and because of that it was much more easy to meet other guests. The rooms are spacious and very nicely decorated. The daily breakfast was great as well. The hotel is located a bit far from the center but you can easily take a taxi. The hosts are so kind, helpful and welcoming. They always make sure you have everything you need! I would definitely come again!
