Cosy old fashioned pub atmosphere, decent value for money for the type of accommodation it is. Friendly staff, and choice of dinner in the pub or make your own with the guest kitchen facilities. Would happily stay there again

OK the pub is old but the owners keep it very clean and tidy. The pub meals were excellent. The owners lent us an extention cord to charge our bike batteries and a hose to clean the bikes. We enjoyed our two night stay.

“A little gem not far from Hokitika”

I was most pleasantly surprised with this stay! I was a little concerned being a solo female after I booked it if I had done the right thing. However the welcome was warm; the room was fine with no noise either from the pub nor the road. There was a very nice kitchen and dining/lounge area available just for guests. And my fish and chips dinner was very tasty! And the locals were friendly and helpful. Thank you for a most pleasant stay.

Great country style pub. Friendly, helpful staff, even put our motorcycle boots into the woodshed out of the rain overnight so they didn't get wet. Meals were great & free local band thrown in too. Thoroughly recommend to anyone.

The Friday night karioke, the Patrons could not be more hospitable, cleanliness was very good, we enjoyed our stay for 2 nights.

Small room. No fly wire, so couldn’t open window ventilation terrible. Bathroom & toilet clean, newish but done on a budget that wasn’t no standard

kitchen and dining area too small…

Loved staying here! The place had such a friendly feeling to it, my friend and I both had our own rooms here which were lovely - and we also enjoyed some drinks and a game of pool at the hotel. The manager/owner was really kind and made us feel at home. We also loved the sweet resident German Shepherd dog, she was so friendly! Would definitely stay here next time I pass through Hokitika/Kaniere.

It is a few kilometres outside Hokitika. It is reasonable priced.

Friendly staff, old style Kiwi hotel with my accommodation a few steps away from the public bar where the regulars would gather to socialise at the end of the work day and drift away. Evening meals available a few nights a week and I enjoyed my chef made meals. Bathroom separate from bed room by a few steps and simple kitchen facilities at the end of the corridor.
