This was a beautiful, well appointed, luxury cottage, set in the most stunning landscaped gardens, reminiscent of an English Manor house. The kitchen contained everything a family of 4 could need, including a Nespresso and a juicer! The linen was luxurious, the place was pristine, there was always firewood available, and they have WiFi as well. Dave and Alba were gracious, welcoming and extremely helpful. We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting mystical Hogsback.

The cottage was beautiful and comfortable. It was well stocked with all the cutlery, crockery, and dishes needed for cooking. There was also some spices and extra things to assist with cooking. There was lots of wood stocked for the fireplace (which was really needed). The host came to meet and was so friendly and helpful, she even let us know of various activities and events happening in the area. We had an amazing stay at Pear Tree Cottage.

The cottage has every comfort you can ask for. We were there in the middle of winter, and it was so lovely and cosy with the fireplace and heated blankets. The kitchen is fully kitted and the cottage is modern and extremely tidy. A bonus is the massive garden with stream which we absolutely loved. Alba is the best host we have ever had.

We have stayed in many self catering places throughout South Africa, but Peartree Cottage is simply the best. The cottage is extremely well furnished and the owners' attention to detail is incredible. There was absolutely nothing missing, especially the kitchen is a dream. Really appreciated the Nespresso machine together with a good selection of coffee capsules. The fireplace in the lounge with a good supply of firewood was unfortunately a necessity in Hogsback, we knew that it can get pretty cold in Hogsback. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful, you could not wish for better hosts. They go out of their way to ensure a pleasant and perfect stay. Overall, there are not enough words to give Peartree Cottage the credit it deserves. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

The extremely up-market furnishings, decor, appliances and equipment, and the finer touches which one might expect only in a 5 star apartment! The comfort and luxury we enjoyed were far more than expected, and so very much appreciated.

“Cozy winter hideaway”

Cosy and private, the cottage was well equipped. There was a fireplace which ensured we stayed nice and warm. Hosts provided lots of firewood. All the beds had heated blankets - perfect for the winter getaway.

We loved the cottage. It was clean, cosy and well-equipped. The fireplace was nice and kept us warm. We loved the spacious garden. The children enjoyed exploring the garden and collecting acorns. The garden swing was a hit.

“More than we expected”

We took wrong road and arrived much later than expected. Hosts phoned us to enquire as to our wellbeing and had bread and soup waiting for us when we eventually arrived, as well as a warm fire on the cold evening. The accommodation exceeded our expectations and everything was sparkling clean. Thank you Alba and Dave, if ever we are in the vicinity again, we will definitely be back!
