During our trip we had an unexpected issue and unfortunately we were unable to stay at the cottages due to a mistake on our side. Despite this, we were in constant communication with the owners and they were incredibly kind, understanding, and supportive throughout the entire process. We did have the chance to see the property and absolutely loved it — it’s a beautiful place, and it was truly a pity that we couldn’t enjoy the stay as planned. As an extraordinary gesture, they decided not to charge us at all, even though we were already outside the cancellation period. We are extremely grateful for their generosity and professionalism, and would not hesitate to recommend Maylodge Country Cottages to anyone looking for a place where hospitality and human kindness truly come first.

The huge garden is beautiful and peaceful, creating a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. The house is very private, and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time sitting on the veranda and taking in the surroundings. The host was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

We stayed in a lovely 2 bedroom Self-catering cottage, with a large beautiful garden that the kids and us enjoyed exploring, close enough to all amenities and a quaint restaurant and coffee shop for breakfast and dinner, there is also a Spar not too far away to get all your necessities.Taryn sent us a pin location and kept in touch with us until we arrived, her warm welcome was much needed after the long trip. We will definitely be back.

“Beautiful stay in wonderful surroundings!”

Maylodge Country Cottages is set in a wonderful environment where the gardens are exquisite. The cottages are well spaced out from one another and beautifully furnished and very comfortable. It is well worth the price of accommodation. Our host Taryn is phenomenal at making you feel welcome and she has a wonderful gift of hospitality. She made our stay comfortable and she was very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place for the whole family as well as for a couple. I would have loved to have extended our time here so will definitely be back again. Thank you Maylodge!

The Garden is beautiful with a lovely setting. Our host was most friendly and accommodating. Lovely to cycle around in the yard. Wood ready for a braai, the veranda a lovely area to soak in our surroundings.

Taryn, communicated frequently, anticipating any needs we may have and providing additional info such as the detailed map of all the best places to visit and opening times of local shops and restaurants over the festive period. The house is located on a beautiful, tranquil property that is within walking distance of Hogsback town. It is clean and comfortable, with a great patio for warm days and indoor fireplace for cold days.

It is quiet with a beautiful garden and attentive hosts. The house is large with a lovely veranda. It is walking distance from the shops and restaurants. The hosts welcome us with wine, hot chocolate and marshmallows that we enjoyed of a indoor fire on a chilly night. We really relaxed and would have stayed longer if we could. We shall be back.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely accommodation! The place was impeccably clean and beautifully maintained. The hosts were incredibly friendly and always available to assist with anything we needed. We were pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful little gifts, including wine for us and marshmallows for the kids, which made our experience even more special. It was also exciting to see the renovations happening in one of the units, can’t wait to return and see the finished product! Highly recommend this place for a delightful getaway!
