Wonderful experience at the farm!

The host was very informative and helped figure out some geneological questions to do with our ancestors! She was amazing! Being a breeder, she was also keen to show us her horses AND one had her foal while we were there!! She came racing out of the house, having just spied the little white dot with the other horses, and invited us to come up into the paddock to meet the new baby!!

When we arrived we pulled in the driveway not sure if we were at the proper place, the host opened her door and threw up her arms as if to say 'what are you doing in my driveway ? No greeting...or a kind welcome...she just said go park over there. The room was terrible....blinds were dirty and all cracked....it smelled in the hallway. The bathroom down the hall was dirty looking....the walkway to the bathroom was dark and stinky. Breakfast was terrible! It's definitely a hostel feeling stay. Would not recommend this stay at all!

Perfect stop with a personal touch you’ll not get in the large hotels.

This is a beautiful small guesthouse in perfect surroundings, just off the main road out of Hofn. Excellent for potential Aurora sighting. Inge was incredibly welcoming, accommodating and helpful, we were there during a major weather alert, she kept us informed and advised of our potential to continue our journey, and was very flexible towards our ever changing needs. The breakfast was excellent, and I’m only sad we did not visit during a more friendly time with the weather, as I’d love to explore the immediate surroundings more. We do plan another Iceland trip in the future and we will absolutely be booking a room here.

Highly recommended.

This accommodation exceeded all our expectations. What fantastic hospitality we experienced here. We received a warm welcome with coffee, tea, chocolate, cookies, and delicious glacier water. The breakfast was amazing, and the tips we received for exploring the area were absolutely worthwhile (very few tourists!). We still had some dirty Tupperware, and later that day it was returned to us clean. We were supposed to leave early on the second morning and were given a takeaway breakfast to go. Unfortunately, one of us became ill and we were unable to leave. Nothing was too much, we were cared for so incredibly well. We were able to stay longer, received a special breakfast for the person who was sick, and were given tips on where to get the right medication. She checked in several times to see if there was anything she could do for us. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, we felt extremely comfortable and completely at ease throughout our stay.

We had an incredible stay at Dynjandi Guesthouse! The house as well all the rooms are warm, clean and we felt warmly welcomed. Between great tips, nice breakfast and stunning views over the fjords and the Batman's horn we couldn't have asked for more! Definitely worth a visit!!!

Truly Excellent Stay

A thoroughly excellent stay. The host was so lovely and kind and spent plenty of time talking to us about Iceland (and even gave us a written guide for attractions). Clean and quiet rooms, homemade breakfast and ease of parking. Our best accommodation in Iceland.

It was a very lovely and cozy stay!

Our host Inga was incredibly friendly and shared many interesting things with us. We felt comfortable and welcome at all times. The guesthouse is charmingly decorated, and we didn’t miss a thing. Personally, I especially appreciated the high-quality toilet paper – that’s definitely not something you can take for granted when comparing with other hotels or guesthouses!

Accommodation has all you need for either a one stop during your ring road tour or for few nights. Is at a horse farm. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast limited but delicious. Private (detached) bathrooms are well looked after. Höfn is 5-10 minute drive for amenities. Plenty of dark areas nearby for Northern lights hunting.

Inga was a great host, providing us with helpful tips on what to do in the surrounding and preparing a really nice breakfast, particularly the Icelandic mini cakes. Through her we could also learn more details about what life actually looks like for an Icelander.
