An exceptional safari lodge and an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The lodge is very peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxing and fully enjoying nature. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive, always making sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of. The chefs truly pampered us with outstanding meals throughout our stay. A special mention to our ranger, Amy. She is the sweetest person and incredibly knowledgeable about the animals, which made every game drive even more special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a top‑quality safari experience.

Highlights include: • Two game drives a day with the most passionate and fabulous guide, Christelle – you couldn’t wish for better. • A great team at the lodge, from the gardeners and housekeepers to the cooks and business operators. • Wonderful breakfast, lunch and diner, including accommodations for people with dietary restrictions. • A customized stay, whether you’re visiting with friends, colleagues, as a couple, or on your honeymoon. This lodge is very eco-friendly, and they are continuously working on expanding the guest experience. Due to strict park regulations, the pool is rather small, but it’s perfect for cooling down. Additionally, you’ll find indoor and outdoor showers in your lodge. Do bring a book or two—between game drives, the peaceful surroundings invite you to unwind. Hoedspruit Airport is relatively close by, making arrivals and departures convenient. The 3-4 planes that fly by in the early afternoon are hardly noticeable. Rooms are very clean, and taken care of twice a day when on safari. The lodge is well protected, felt very safe during day and night time. With stunning views of the riverbanks, you might see various animals pass by while dining or relaxing—making this a place to remember.

Nyala Safari Lodge was superb - the Guide, Christelle, was knowledgeable and attentive to her guests. The Managers, Dave and Nicki, were also amazing! It was a great way to spend a wedding anniversary.

“Great experience”

The property is beautiful. You don’t see a lot of other cars around which makes the game drives very special. We had some really amazing sightings (thanks Hannes!) including leopards, lions and a herd of buffalo moving to water whilst we waited for them in the watch tower with beers in hand. Our journey through the safari was nothing short of fantastic, beginning with a thrilling encounter with a sleeping lion en route to the lodge. The adventure continued with more lion sightings as we departed. Our guide, Christelle, was the highlight of our trip. Her extensive knowledge and evident passion for wildlife truly enriched our safari, transforming it into a magical adventure. We experienced great extra drives, pursuing the echoes of roaring lions and observing the serene beauty of a lounging leopard. Fortune smiled upon us, allowing us to witness four different leopards, including a surprise visit from one during our sundowner drinks – a moment of sheer amazement especially for Christelle!!. The warmth and hospitality of Dave and Nikki made us feel like a part of the Nyala family. Their exceptional attention to detail in the dining experience, complemented by Shylet's service, elevated our stay. Our heartfelt thanks to the Nyala family for crafting such an unforgettable and unique safari experience.

The safari setting, ambiance and facilities exceeded our expectations and allowed us to switch off and relax. We were also lucky to get a lodge upgrade. The Staff were very helpful and friendly, and Izaan, our guide, went the extra mile to make our game drive experience special. Dankie vir n spesiale tyd saam Izaan! Alwyn, Marica en kinders.

First of all the lodge is very well appointed. It sits in a small 'oasis in the bush' ca. 10 metres above a dry river bed, potentially offering some great views of the wildlife roaming directly below. The chalets are very spacious and offer a nice touch of luxury without being overly ostentacious. The hospitality shown by the hosts Dave and Nikki is second to none and unlike some camps they went that extra mile to make our stay a memorable one. A good example was all of us going out for an extra night drive with Christelle (our ranger) to study the stars from a termite mound in the bush. That was a really great adventure! The dining experience was exceptional with some great food ( and plenty of it) served up by the staff with that lovely African smile. I would describe Nyala as a wonderful place to go if you truly wish to unwind in the bush. So well done to all.

“Perfect place”

I had the best trip of my life staying here! The lodge is INCREDIBLE! We saw Giraffes and Elephants drinking from a water hole behind the lodge. Our guide Christelle is the best guide in the world! Shylet and Francina cooked for us and all the meals were delicious! I don't have words to say how happy I am to chose this lodge. The best choice I have made!

I really did like it, the food was exceptional, especially for a Safari Lodge. Also the rooms where big and quite comfortable. Only, you have to take into account, that it is in the middle of nature, so by night, there are loads of insects. For me though, the fact to be so remote in the bush was so relaxing.

The view were great looking out onto the river. The total quietness with only the sound of nature was great. Nicolene the guide we really enjoyed her knowledge and friendliness. The staff we very friendly and helpful all the time and the meals were very tasteful and well prepare hats of for the ladies in the kitchen.
