Overview
Set in a private reserve, surrounded by Blyde River and the Drakensberg Mountains, this lodge offers self-catering rooms with balconies. It features 2 outdoor pools, massage treatments and barbecue facilities. Blyde River Wilderness Lodge’s elegantly decorated rooms have a mosquito net, a seating area and the self-catering rooms offer a fully equipped kitchen. Each room has a private bathroom with a hairdryer. All rooms lead out onto the tranquil river settings, where crocodiles and hippos cruise by. The reserve is also home to giraffes, zebras and nyalas. Guests can start their day with a rich breakfast buffet, before exploring the surrounding area. Tea garden lunches, patio dinners and packed lunches are also available on request. Refreshments can be be enjoyed at the bar. A variety of activities is offered in the surrounding area, including boat cruises on the Blyde Dam, game drives, quad biking and hot air ballooning. God's Window is about 60 km away

“Wonderful.”
The property has everything. It’s a hidden gem, hence it is down a long dirt road….. which is still better than most English tarmac roads. You can find ostriches walking close by and if you venture out a little further on foot into the lodges own reserve; you can find zebras and giraffes. The actual lodge accommodation is second to none. As are the gardens, pools and relaxation areas. (Including restaurant and bar). It’s all set on the banks of the Blythe River. Beautiful. Its staff are friendly and helpful.

“Great stay in a beautiful setting”
Blyde River Wilderness Lodge is a stunning place surrounded by nature. The road to reach it is easy, especially with the location sent beforehand, and spotting wildlife along the way was a real treat. The food is good, and the whole experience made our stay very enjoyable.
