Food was exceptional and the staff were very nice and polite. The view from our room was amazing!

Very big room, extravagant in fact. I had a open air bath outside the living room. It is my first time trying something like that and I love the experience. I can see the stars at night and hear the river gushing past. Had a dedicated room for meals. Lavish and beautiful meals.

Spacious room having individual bath tub in the room which my old dad liked it most. Dinner and breakfast were literally full of food with real japanese dishes. The ryokan was located a little bit surburb but I even liked it because it had the old japanese small town vibe. Even though some staff members were not good at english, no problem at all in communicating with them when using cell-phone translator. Lovely staffs and lovely manager, named Junko who kindly wrote greeting cards in Korean - My 8yr daughter still talks about her. Absolutely good value for the money.

Everything, especially able to meet the charming lady owner who is an artist herself. She speaks good English and displaces beautiful Japanese manners.

“Lots of food, great baths and fantastic staff”

Great staff who did everything to ensure we enjoyed our stay. If you arrive by train ask the very friendly Tourist Information Office staff at the station to call the hotel and they will come and pick you up very promptly.

This was amazing. The view was beautiful. The staff was so very helpful. This hotel was very traditional and a wonderful experience. This is my favorite hotel of the trip. The hot springs was great.

“Relaxing experience of stay”

Great experience of staying here. It was calm and relaxing to have open air bath in the middle of forest. We could see tranquil atmosphere of Amagase onsen village with wall-like mountain alongside the river. Kaiseki dinner was fantastic. We could see true Japanese hospitality here. The owner and staff are very friendly and patient. The property is beautiful and provided great meals. The owner here is so kind, she walked us to our car when we were leaving and thanked us for coming. I am so happy to have met such wonderful people in Japan. I am grateful for the excellent service I received.

- The room was huge. All inclusive. My room had the bathtub. River view was also nice. - The breakfast and dinner were delicious. We can see that they made a lot of effort in detail. - The hotel offers 6 onsen baths (4 inside the hotel; 2 outside which you need to walk down the stairs). - Staff were super friendly.

Big spacious room on the top floor with a nice view of the river. Good service from all personnel. Good variety and very filling dinner and breakfast.

“Authentic hotel with great food and staff”

Fantastic family run traditional hotel. The room was huge and the futons were very comfortable which they made for us while we ate dinner. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. They have 2 great Onsen's. The food was so good and there were so many dishes to enjoy for both dinner and breakfast. So many nice little touches, they even gave me a gift when we checked out. We arrived by car, and we found that the name of the hotel was different to the name on our booking, which was a little confusing but not a negative. This hotel is so quirky and authentic, a must stay away from other tourist traps!

The staff were very polite. The indoor onsen was good with an adjoining outdoor pool. The forest bath was about 8 minutes walk down steps, a good experience.

property very clean, toilet and shower seperate. staff were friendly and helpful, able to get hotel pick up and drop off to train station (ask tourist information to help you ring hotel) the view is beautiful, can see and hear the river running. not crowded at all, the forest onsen bath was beautiful and our group was able to have it to ourselves for nearly 2 hours the normal open air bath also has pretty view and spacious dinner and breakfast were delicious and quantity was good as well. staff also prepare futons for us to sleep, it was very comfortable a lady staff in kimono sent us off in the morning.
