Overview
Featuring free Wi-Fi throughout, a coin launderette and a shared-use kitchen, the entirely non-smoking J Hoppers Guesthouse is a 10-minute walk to the Atomic Bomb Dome. Opened in 2006, it has simple air-conditioned rooms with shared bathrooms. Guests at J Hoppers Hiroshima Guesthouse can sleep in a bunk bed in a dormitory-style room, or experience a private Japanese room with traditional bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. Towels can be rented, and the dorm room has lockers. The hostel is a 3-minute walk from Dobashi Tram Station and a 5-minute walk to Peace Memorial Park. Miyajima Island, with the famous Itsukushima Shrine, is a 45-minute tram ride away. Bicycle hire is possible. The lounge has an LCD TV with international channels, as well as free coffee/tea. Luggage can be stored and a free-use internet PC is provided. Guests can hang out on the roof terrace. No meals are served. The free-use kitchen includes a microwave, toaster, rice cooker, cooking utensils, and tableware. This property can accommodate up to 6 guests.

Nice to have a kitchen, and there was nothing notably wrong with the place. We were hoping for a bit more of a social environment downstairs, but it's low season so that's not their fault. One of the ladies on reception was very smiley

“Very nice and clean hostel”
Easily the best hostel I’ve stayed at in Japan. Nice social area downstairs, really big bed pods/bunks with space to store your bag in them and lockers inside too. Mattress a little thin but I still slept very well. Also has good laundry facilities and a nice rooftop balcony.

“Great place to stay for exploring Hiroshima”
Perfect for a few nights’ stay, with a great location close to the station and local sights. The rooms were very clean and featured traditional tatami mat bedding, which made for a very comfortable night’s sleep. The facilities were excellent and well maintained throughout. The free coffee and tea were a lovely bonus. An ideal base for exploring Hiroshima.

“Very comfortable budget friendly hostel in great location.”
The private room was basic with traditional tatami mats and futons, which were very comfortable. It was ideal as a base but you wouldn't spend too much time in there, due to space. The communal living area and kitchen were great and there's a smoking terrace, if needed. Shower, toilet and sinks were all evry clean and we never had an issue with them being busy. We had a 9 year old with us and I felt it was safe and welcoming for her.

Loved the friendly staff and the vibe of the place. A true hostel atmosphere ... Friendly to all. Rooms were simple but had what you needed. Shared bath and showers were fine. Great value for $

Location: Only 2 - 3 minutes walking to the nearest tram station Dobashi. Also in walking distance to Peace Park and Genbaku Dome. The surrounding streets have plenty good restaurants. Staff: Able to communicate well in English and was more than helpful.

“Warm friendly happy feel”
Homely, friendly atmosphere. Very clean and comfortable. Free coffee and tea. Kitchen. Staff were great. Really helpful- especially with Sazanka- Nabe restauarant😊😊 A very warm feel to the place. I loved it.
