“A perfect stay in Hiriketiya”

Serene Villa is such a lovely place to stay. Swarna and her team really looked after us for our 5 night stay. The breakfast buffet was really good with lovely omelettes and eggs available too. The coffee is a small extra charge but well worth it as it was delicious. We stayed in two rooms with our teenage daughters on the ground floor, and they were really spacious with extras like a fridge, kettle, hairdryer. The gym is limited but I used the spin bike each day which was all I needed. The beach is only about 150m away. This is down a steep hill but was good exercise for us. Lots of restaurants on the doorstep in both directions. The pool was smaller than we thought but was perfect for a dip to cool off after a hot day. Thank you Swarna and the Serene Villas team for making our stay in Hiriketiya so memorable.

We enjoyed our stay here overall and the room was much bigger than expected — it felt more like a small apartment than a standard hotel room, which gave us plenty of space to relax. The breakfast each morning was very good, especially the freshly made omelettes. We also loved spotting monkeys in the trees around the property which made the setting feel really special and tropical. The location was excellent, with easy access to both Hiriketiya Beach and Dickwella Beach, so it was a great base for exploring the area. The staff were also very welcoming and helpful with our luggage, and we were greeted with fresh juice on arrival which was a lovely touch. Overall, a spacious and comfortable stay in a really good location.

Amazing buffet breakfast with a great selection of Sri Lankan food, fruit, pancakes, cereal, toast, eggs, juice and coffee is an extra charge. We got the balcony room which was 100% worth it with a beautiful view! Staff were so kind and helpful, surf boards were free to use, pool was refreshing and in the shade. We really loved how large and open our room was. Location is perfect, walk down the hill and the beach is right there! We 100% would recommend this hotel and will be back again when we return to Hiriketiya. Thank you so much to the beautiful staff, the manager - she is amazing! The breakfast staff, always smiling and helpful, Suresh - he is so so Kind and lovely. These people made our stay such a beautiful experience to remember. Also we stayed 7 nights here, loved it!

“Perfect location”

Perfect location, few mins from beach, although it is up a steep hill if you have any mobility issues but it’s so easy to get a Tuktuk so this isn’t an issue. Lovely shaded pool if you wanted to get out of the sun. Breakfast was decent. Staff were so lovely, really enjoyed the welcome drink and they can organise transfers if you need picking up from previous hotel or taking somewhere on your onward journey. We had a crazy storm whilst we were there and the staff made sure to check in if everything was ok

“Blissful stay in a truly 'serene' villa!”

Serene Villa is a small oasis of calm, just off the slighly busy street of Hiriketiya; the apartment room gazed out on a vista of jungle with monkeys happily scampering between palm trees. Breakfast was a wonderful mix of international and Sri Lankan cuisine and the staff were extremely helpful, throughout our stay. Having Yoga on site was also very convenient, at a decent price.

“A really friendly place - lovely people who made me feel very welcome”

The people who work there are so nice and friendly ! I arrived early and I they worked to get it ready for me ahead of schedule ! Ishan the Transport Manager was so helpful when I needed a back up plan for my trip back to Colombo to catch my flight. Everyone here is so nice ! The apartment had its own little courtyard which was all really private . The apartment was so cool and an oasis to return to after being out in the heat of the day . The buffet was plentiful, tasty and varied. I loved the coffee too esp the Flat Whites - thank you ! Location wise I found it perfect for both beaches as it is positioned close to the top of the hill on the road between the 2 beaches . I also really enjoyed yoga classes held at Serene - the most amazing views too ! I would definitely recommend staying here and I would love to come back again

Forgot to add that the breakfast was weak and I found hair in the noodles

“Gorgeous hotel and great location for Hiri!”

Perfectly located up the hill from the main beach, we enjoy a relaxing 3 nights staying here. The design and vibe were excellent - our room had lots of space, was super comfortable and quiet. It felt like staying deep in the jungle but only a short walk from the main beach area of Hiri - which has lots of places to eat, drink and surf!

We stayed two nights at the serene. Great location short walk down the hill to the beach. Lots of options of cafes/restaurants in This area. We stayed on the top floor which gave us a beautiful view of hiriketiya beach. There was a lot Of steps to the top, however staff assisted with luggage which were very grateful for. Room was large, spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly and accomodating

Beautiful view from the balcony. Very good, local breakfast. Great location, 2 minutes from the main beach with great surfing.

Loved the location, it was a short 2 min walk from the beach and restaurants though slightly out of the main strip so can escape the hustle and bustle.

Just outside the noise of the village, nothing too much for the staff to pleade their guests.
