We had such a great stay at Casa Vana. From the moment we arrived the staff were so helpful, always contactable and always happy to help with any questions we had. They really went above and beyond! The location is also so perfect, just a short walk to the beach and nearby to lots of great places.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The Manager and his staff were really lovely, caring, friendly and enthusiastic. They made our stay unforgettable. The manager organised everything for us and even went buying Mango 15km further away for our juices. We did aswell the safari through the hotel, which was really nice and a good price. Generally said we had a great time in this beautiful hotel with a nice pool and absolutely great staff. Recommend it to everyone visiting the area. It's a beautiful and relaxing place.

“Amazing room and atmosphere, clean and next to the beach”

In terms of decoration and atmosphere, this was the best hotel we had in our trip. Very nicely made, the room was spacious whereas the bathroom was open air which added a very relaxing vibe. We also made use of their laundry service which was great. Very close to the beach and local shops/ restaurants.

“A beautiful jungle escape with incredible hospitality — I’d absolutely stay again!”

Casa Vana genuinely felt like being tucked away in the middle of the jungle. Waking up to birds, monkeys and the sound of nature all around you was such a special experience. It felt peaceful, immersive and completely different from a standard stay. The atmosphere was magical; surrounded by greenery and wildlife, yet still comfortable and well thought out. The staff were warm and helpful throughout, and the overall vibe was relaxed and authentic. It felt like a proper Sri Lankan experience rather than just accommodation, and the coconut on arrival was a lovely touch!

“NOISE WARNING - AVOID”

We recently stayed for 6 nights across the NY period. We stayed in Hiri 12 months prior also for NYE so we understood there would be partying noise in the town, part of the reason we went back. However, this accom Casa Vana is truly the worst accom experience I have had that I can remember, I've travelled to over 50 countries and stayed in varying levels of accom, but the expectations, value and issues here are a cluster bomb. The room is nice, although darker than the website and there are angles missing altogether from pics (the ones you actually look at, like a fence). BUT, it is the incredibly loud noise coming from the Secret Jungle Party outdoor site immediately next door, just over a fence, that is truly unbelievable. Imagine trying to sleep at the side of the main stage at a music festival. Four out of six nights we endured the thumping beats well into the morning, as late at 4.30am. It was so loud that the glass in the window pane vibrated. The owner-manager also lacked customer service skills. No genuine effort was given to the situation, beyond "what can I do?". A lot actually, be sympathetic, check in re how we coped after not sleeping (again), buy us a six pack - anything. At $200 per night this was robbery and an incredible downer for our Sri Lankan holiday. Also, it wasn't just the relentless noise, it was the daily build up knowing it was to come. We just wanted to relax, and party too. In summary: AVOID. PS The young guys that worked there were friendly and great.

“A lovely stay”

A lovely room and a memorable stay. The location is great and the surrounding trees meant watching monkeys in the trees whilst showering! The room was comfortable and we would definitely stay again. The staff were friendly and helpful, and left you to your own devices but were prompt a replying and helping on WhatsApp if we needed anything.

“Beautiful authentic hotel with a perfect location, less than 2 minutes to the beach, shops and restaurants on your door”

Lovely traditional property that felt authentically Sri Lankan. The location couldn’t be any better, it was less than a 2 minute walk to Hiri beach with restaurants on your doorstep for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It had a beautiful outdoor bathroom, surprisingly no bugs! With the odd monkey running past but they kept themselves to themselves. Staff were very friendly and helpful and made a nice effort for us when we arrived for our Honeymoon. I had read bad comments about the hotel being right next to a club and the noise going on all night but luckily the jungle party was not on on the Sunday we were there and we had just missed the Friday! I can imagine this would be quite loud as it is next door. If you are staying in Hiri, I strongly suggest you pre book into Smoke and Bitters for dinner one evening. You must pre book far in advance else you will not get a table.

Really nice people, very helpful with bookings for transportation, reservations etc. The common area with a kitchen is so cozy and you have a beautiful view.
