The hotel is situated on top of a cliff and the views are amazing, we visited in winter and the views were so dramatic and awe inspiring. The snow falling gently on the sea was amazing. The receptionist was very friendly and said she didn't speak English but was actually very good and could help us a lot with amenities and dinner recommendations. Our room was great, spacious and very clean and had all the amenities(kettle, towels, toothbrush, valuables safe etc). The private outdoor bath was amazing and so cool to look out on the sea in the bath. They also have a private indoor bath. The bath reservation system worked great, when we stayed it was not busy so it was easy to get a spot. For food there are some frozen options in the fridge but you can drive to Himi which is the nearest town and get a great meal, lots of good restaurants. We did not have breakfast there so I cannot comment on that. The reception is unattended at night so it is important to arrive in the afternoon so they can help check you in. Please let them know in advance when you're arriving. I would not stay here if I did not have access to a car, as it is a bit out of the way. The parking was good and ample. I would definitely visit this region and hotel again but it is a bit out of the way so best if you are on a road trip with a car.

We had luck that it was raining while we were in the outdoor spa. The rain falling and sea splashing made the hot bath extremely memorable.

“Nice, simple ryokan with beautiful view”
A nice small ryokan in a remote place. Everything was just fine, including the room, onsen with rotenburo, food, etc. Just fine, but nothing special. Apart from the view: pure endless sea - it made this accommodation worth the price (but not a penny more).
